We are seeking a Software Engineer in our Thousand Oaks, CA headquarters or Tampa, FLA to join our Patient Safety IS team.

Amgen is using cloud technology, DevSecOps frameworks, and migration and continuous deployment pipelines to create new drug therapies for patients that address grievous illnesses. We are seeking an SDE/T engineer to fill a position in Amgen's newly built Cloud Center of Excellence (CCOE) team. Our small product team is a high-energy, tight-knit group who builds our DevSecOps framework used globally by Amgen development teams.

Responsibilities:

Leadership in defining technical and process improvements with many groups of business, IS and vendors to develop in more automated fashion

Assessment of processes to identify potential key issues or bottlenecks (process discovery, definition/mapping, visualization, cataloging, mining)

The successful candidate will contribute to the success of business outcomes by making fundamental improvements in how data and information is managed, business processes are operated, physical work flow is directed to efficiently achieve the integration and orchestration of all activities required for product development. You will work as part of a product team chartered to deliver technology solutions to successfully drive business outcomes.

We are seeking a Senior Automation Engineer leader to fill a position in Amgen's Process Simplification and Automation team. Our teams are group of high-energy, motivated doers that want to improve the lives of our partners through continuous productivity improvement via the use of automation software technologies.

This role entails the integration of commercial off the shelf (COTS) application platforms focused on RIM for Life Sciences and systems across R&D and Operations. A deep understanding of RIM processes, incl. authoring is helpful, but not required. You will also be required to gain in-depth business domain knowledge, perform data modeling, facilitate and document business requirements via client sessions and workshops for complex and multi-segment business processes, and help translate and communicate the requirements to the technical design and development team.

Partner with business and technology teams to elicit, analyze, translate, and document business requirements into technical requirements and solutions.

The incumbent will be an active participant in all phases of the RDM Product Development Life Cycle (PDLC) including: business client expectation and requirement scope management, process and systems analysis, requirements elicitation, articulating system solutions and approaches for addressing business needs, and supporting the development of business cases for proposed solutions. Big focus of this role will be on technically configuring and testing the solutions during steady state.

Work closely with automation/software engineers, architects and technical SMEs, to deliver optimized digital solution and increase adoption

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree

OR

Masters degree AND 2 years of Information Systems or Statistical Analysis experience

OR

Bachelors degree AND 4 years of Information Systems or Statistical Analysis experience

OR

Associates degree AND 10 years of Information Systems or Statistical Analysis experience

OR

High school diploma/GED AND 12 years of Information Systems or Statistical Analysis experience

Minimum Qualifications::

  • Key area of responsibility is to perform process mapping and/or process mining of transactional business processes across Amgen, problem identification, and design of futures state processes.
  • Ability to implement various process mapping and mining technologies to base line business area performance.
  • Translate business process analysis and solution options into business cases and present to functional senior leadership.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with scientific domain expertise to communicate optimally with scientific partners, IS Executive leadership, and develop Informatics strategies
  • Strong experience in business analysis and process mapping
  • Continuous improvement mindset (i.e LEAN, Kaizen, etc.)
  • Experience working with Agile development methodologies (such as Sprint and Scrum) and DevOps
  • Experience working in product teams and having service delivery mindset
  • Self-motivated individual with demonstrated ability to learn new concepts and technologies, work cross-functionally in teams (internal and external)
  • Demonstrated ability of leadership, collaboration and project management
  • US Citizen or green card holders
