We are seeking a highly motivated Laboratory Operations Manager to join our Assay Research and Development team.  Inflammatix is at the core of reimagining molecular diagnostics by developing rapid point-of-care tests that aid in the diagnose of acute infections and sepsis.  This is a great opportunity to grow with a team that is working on game-changing diagnostic products.  Reporting to the Director of Assay R&D, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of our lab.  

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee and maintain laboratory policies and Environmental Health and Safety requirements
  • Manage weekly lab safety inspections to ensure the cleanliness and safety of the lab, proactively make recommendations and improvement for the lab, coordinate with external collaborators for semiannual lab safety inspections
  • Arrange and track laboratory personnel training for safe lab practices and protocols
  • Serve as the liaison for compliance with laboratory guidelines and policies across Inflammatix regulatory/quality departments and the Assay Research and Development department
  • Partner with the regulatory/quality department to prepare documents for pre-audit submissions and lab tours
  • Collaborate with our quality department to author regulatory documents
  • Monitoring raw lab material and consumable inventory, anticipate and prepare laboratory needs to ensure smooth lab operation with minimum disruption
  • Generate POs and provide information to cross-functional teams to properly track costs to be correctly assigned to projects
  • Serve as primary contact for lab vendors, including supplies, equipment maintenance and service visits
  • Manage the budget and requisition of all laboratories durable and expendables by conducting product research to identify new vendors and provide the best prices and products for our lab
  • Schedule preventative maintenance checks and services for all laboratory equipment, manage the requisition for all new equipment, prepare and maintain all regulatory guidelines compliance documents
  • Ensure the correct handling and storage, and arrange for disposal of hazardous and biohazardous waste
  • Place, receive and organize all orders for the Assay Research and Development lab, update tracking information, expected time of arrival and resolve any delays for backordered materials

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA, BS, or MS in related life sciences field
  • Minimum 3 years of related work experiences in a biotech (or similar industry) lab setting 
  • Highly organized, detail oriented, methodical, thorough and to multitask
  • Experience with tools to maintain inventory and laboratory management systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and time management skills, and comfortable to enforce lab safety related practices and protocols
  • Knowledge of quality, environment, safety, health and GMP policies
  • Exceptional organizational and record keeping skills
  • Experience ordering, managing, and stocking supplies, including interfacing with vendors


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Lab management related experience with molecular biology laboratory techniques in a regulated laboratory environment is preferred
  • Ability to assist scientists in technical work as needed, in areas such usage of instruments/equipment related to project work, and various assays
