ROLE SUMMARY

The Senior Manager, Customer Communications, is responsible for leading the development and execution of customer communications and related operational strategies to maximize revenue, support customer reputation and drive product / digital initiatives for injectable and specialty products in the Pfizer U.S. Hospital Business Unit (U.S. HBU). Specifically, the colleague in this role will ensure sound communications strategies and proactive information dissemination for customer-facing colleagues to use with customers -- including hospital clinicians, Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs) and Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs). The colleague will write, develop, and manage customer communications with the Customer Marketing and Communications and Portfolio teams, and other cross-functional groups. The Senior Manager partners with Corporate Affairs and Pfizer Global Supply leads to execute communications for the business, including product opportunity and market action communications, standby statements, Q&As and message documents. The individual in this role also collaborates with critical colleagues across Sales, Medical, Regulatory, Legal, Account Management, Supply Chain, Quality, Operations and Trade teams as appropriate.

The Senior Manager, Customer Communications, reports directly to the Customer Marketing and Communications Lead.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and implement customer communication programs and tools to advance U.S. HBU business and revenue goals. Lead customer communication program execution and provides strategies and materials for local implementation and execution. Leverage new and /or existing  digital channels to execute communications plan.

  • Manage projects with Customer Marketing and Communications Lead, Marketing and Communications colleagues, Corporate Affairs, Account Management, Portfolio, Sales and other team members to develop, coordinate and implement communications for customers and externally-facing colleagues.

  • Liaise with partner lines to effectively gather and develop content for product opportunities and supply recovery initiatives.

  • Issue scenario plan communications to broad stakeholder audience on supply recovery of key portfolio products.

  • Develop clear communication processes for Sales teams regarding product supply and availability messaging.

  • Collaborate effectively with U.S. HBU Customer Marketing and Communications, Corporate Affairs and other Communications teams across Pfizer to align on internal and external strategic messaging and planning, including product and supply statements, Q&As and message documents.

  • Participate on cross-functional teams to understand, respond to and develop critical new product launch, return to market and supply communications.

  • Serve as a backup for supporting priority communications initiatives and vehicles, including SharePoint sites, colleague Town Halls, leader and issues management communications.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

  • Undergraduate degree in business, communications, English, marketing or related area; MS / MBA preferred

  • 7-10 years experience, commercial and/or corporate Communications

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills

  • Strong project management skills

  • Understanding of proper corporate objectives and messaging to key audiences at all levels of the organization

  • Strong knowledge of the U.S. brand, generic and hospital pharmaceutical marketplace

  • Able to work with tight deadlines, manage multiple projects at once and maintain professionalism under pressure

  • Proactive self-starter, able to work autonomously and manage projects independently

  • Good interpersonal skills

  • Experience with the biopharmaceutical industry or healthcare sector preferred; specific knowledge of Pfizer a plus

  • Demonstrated effective levels of the following capabilities: organizational awareness, leading change, seizing accountability, driving performance, self-awareness, business acumen and acting decisively.
