Amgen is seeking a Senior Manager, Global Stock Plans to join the People Services group and will be responsible for the supervision of up to two stock administrators as well as overseeing the four person benefit administration group.

While developing and maintaining effective partnerships, the Sr Manager will provide equity-related support to Finance, Payroll, HR, Legal, Compensation and HR business associates both nationally and around the globe.

As part of the People Services Group located in Amgens Capability Center in Tampa Florida, the Senior Manager, Global Stock Plans will report to the Director of People Services. The Senior Manager, Global Stock Plans will be responsible for leading and driving change within the organization and innovate on current processes to improve stock administration for Amgen globally.

The People Services group is an organization intended to provide a more cohesive people services delivery model. Our service scope includes a wide array of employee engagement services ranging from; HR Operations, Benefits Administration, Payroll, HR Technology, External Workforce Center and Mobility/Immigration among several others. By bringing these services and activities together under one organization the People Services team aims to improve collaboration, share best practices, innovate and streamline processes in these areas for the entire enterprise.

Key Activities for the Senior Manager, Global Stock Plans include:

  • Manage the planning and administration of all aspects of Amgens global equity programs including: Performance Stock Units (PSUs), Stock Options (NQSOs), Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) and Dividend Equivalent Units (DEUs) for approximately 19,000 participants and a currently US based ESPP

  • Oversee, and if needed, process all RSUs/PSUs/DEUs vests and releases, grant of new awards, terminations and stock option exercises

  • Review and approve monthly, quarterly and year-end share reconciliations

  • Provide data/reports for month-end, quarter-end, year-end, supporting stock-based compensation and all other financial reporting needs ensuring compliance with all equity related regulatory, accounting and tax requirements

  • Support Legal with executive staff equity transactions and prepare and assist in the preparation of SEC Forms 3, 4 and 5 for Section 16 Officers

  • Maintain database integrity, while managing and assisting with other equity related projects

  • Ensures robust controls are embedded in each process and operating as designed, be the lead on SOX compliance and internal controls; supports internal and external audit activities as needed and ensure compliance for all plan documents and statutory requirements related to Equity Plans and Programs

  • Act as point of contact for escalation and resolution, as well as interpretation of policies relating to the equity program, providing knowledge and collaboration to remove roadblocks for smooth operations

  • Assist Legal with preparation of Proxy Statement

  • Generates on-going management and legal reports in the equity administration space as required

  • Manage relationships with outsourced equity related vendors and brokers

  • Provide support to staff members by addressing their questions and inquiries

  • Responsible for budgeting, invoicing and metrics

  • Develop, then lead worldwide employee education and communications while staying current on global equity compensation matters including accounting, tax and legal practices and assess potential business impact

  • Support the ongoing learning / development of functional expertise of the extended team delivering equity services

  • Be the expert in navigating/reporting within the third party vendor system for equity; understand the integration to the other US components of benefits which include retirement plans, health & welfare and leave of absence

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years of global equity plan administration experience at publicly traded companies

  • Level 3 CEP certification

  • Proven successful leadership managing team members and complex projects

  • Exceptional communication skills with employees at all levels of the organization

  • Advanced Excel and Word capabilities

  • Previous experience with Workday and Access

  • Previous working experience using a captive broker/vendor equity administrative system including: data management and reporting (BAML)

  • Ability to be curious and questioning; willing to challenge assumptions in a manner that adds value

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 2 years of Scientific and/or Operations and/or Business experience

Or

Masters degree and 4 years of Scientific and/or Operations and/or Business experience

Or

Bachelors degree and 6 years of Scientific and/or Operations and/or Business experience

Or

Associates degree and 10 years of Scientific and/or Operations and/or Business experience

Or

High school diploma / GED & 12 years of Scientific and/or Operations and/or Business experience
