ROLE SUMMARY

IMEx is Pfizer’s Lean management system and is defined as "One Best Way" of Operating Standards across Manufacturing and Supply. IMEx empowers colleagues and enables processes to function efficiently and effectively.

The mission for the Integrated Manufacturing Excellence (IMEx) team is to deploy and sustain IMEx at the McPherson site. This position is accountable for helping deliver that mission for the site.

The IMEx Engineer will report to site IMEx Lead. This Engineer role is part of the Operational Excellence organization and will be heavily involved with the deployment of IMEx, Lean Management System elements, and Method 4 throughout the McPherson Site.

The role is expected to support strategic process improvements and waste reduction projects of varying size and complexity in any of the functional areas of the site.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with Ecosystem deployment Lead to deploy IMEx within individual process centric teams (PCT) through execution of IMEx elements (M1, 5S, Visual Management, Standard Work, Total Productive Maintenance, Continuous Improvement, etc.).

  • Operates as a SME for the IMEx Elements for the site.

  • Act as a change agent who is dedicated to inspiring positive change for the site through their work.

  • Performs data analysis and supports health checks/maturity assessments for the IMEx team.

  • Supports site by delivering educational material and facilitating Application workshops for IMEx deployments.

  • Represents the IMEx team as a key member related to branding and change management for the site.

  • Assures alignment to standards and ecosystem maturity as deployment activities progress.

  • Facilitate continuous improvement meetings and standard work workshops.

  • Support the vision of every colleague, every day improving their work processes through implementation of IMEx and other related OpEx programs

  • Be a passionate and credible advocate for IMEx at the site

QUALIFICATIONS

Must-Have

  • BS in Engineering or BS in a related technical discipline.

  • 0-2 years of pharmaceutical experience in Operations, Engineering; 2+ years in other Manufacturing/Operations or Engineering.

  • Works independently with minimal guidance.

  • Must be able to work in a team environment.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in influencing and motivating teams without a direct authority, presenting data, and stakeholder management.

  • Proven effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office programs, including MS Project or equivalent.

Nice-to-Have

  • Preferred: Knowledge of cGMPs and manufacturing procedures and standards.

  • Remains organized & positive in ambiguous and fast-paced, rapidly changing situations

  • Interface and communicate effectively with multiple stakeholder groups

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

This is a 1st day shift position from Monday-Friday, administrative shift, with support to 2nd and 3rd shift production. Job may require occasional weekend/evening work supporting a 24-hour/7 day operation.

This position could require frequent time in the quality lab areas around lab instrumentation and equipment and may also require weekend or off-shift work to support project demands and timelines.
