This Senior Manager role reports to the Strategy Director, Bone Health Marketing and will lead strategic planning efforts across a portfolio with both in-line and pipeline assets for Amgens bone health portfolio in the US region. Principally, this position will support 2 critical area: 1) Bone franchise strategic planning (e.g., brand strategy, life cycle management, evaluation of new opportunities etc.), and 2) operational needs regarding business performance for 2 inline growth brands (e.g., business reviews, budget oversight, brand planning leadership, insight and performance review etc.) This role will be actively involved in managing a complex business entailing both buy-and-bill and retail acquisition models, multiple customer audiences across both primary care and specialty arenas, and promotional field sales activities across all of Amgens US business units. This is an excellent opportunity for a marketer seeking to lead highly strategic projects in parallel to managing operational aspects of managing the continued growth and expansion of a potential multi-billion dollar bone health franchise.

Key responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following activities:

  • Lead cross-functional partners in the evolution of dynamic brand plan to identify customer needs, business opportunities, competitive landscape, and behavioral objectives in order to develop unique strategies and innovative approaches for driving growth across the bone health portfolio
  • Lead strategic projects to evaluate both short-term and long-term opportunity of the bone health portfolio (e.g., optimal co-positioning across 2 portfolio assets, expansion into new customer segment etc.)
  • Collaborate with market research, finance, and marketing teams to support forecast development and manage budget for outside expenses.
  • Oversee process for preparing LE (Latest Estimate) and LRP (Long Range Planning) deliverables
  • Collaborate with brand and market research teams to develop business analytics that inform investment decisions and measure impact of marketing tactics
  • Manage processes to prepare for periodic business performance reviews, develop launch metrics, and support launch readiness reviews
  • Act as liaison with access operations teams to align reimbursement hub operations with brand strategies and customer preferences
  • Partner with R&D and global marketing teams to align brand strategies with lifecycle plans and identify data generation opportunities
  • Manage other marketing operations specific for bone health marketing team (e.g. label updates, etc.)

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and (2 years of Marketing and/or Sales Management experience) OR (2 years of Marketing and/or Sales including 1 year of Marketing experience)
Masters degree and (4 years of Marketing and/or Sales Management experience) OR (4 years of Marketing and/or Sales including 2 years of Marketing experience)
Bachelors degree and (6 years of Marketing and/or Sales Management experience) OR (6 years of Marketing and/or Sales including 3 years of Marketing experience)
Associates degree and (10 years of Marketing and/or Sales Management experience) OR (10 years of Marketing and/or Sales including 5 years of Marketing experience)
High school diploma / GED and (12 years of Marketing and/or Sales Management experience) OR (12 years of Marketing and/or Sales including 6 years of Marketing experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Therapeutic area experience and/or launch experience
  • Sales management experience and/or access experience
  • Demonstrated success in project management in a matrix environment
  • Demonstrated success in critical analysis and quantitative outputs
  • Proven ability to lead and influence cross functional teams with diverse backgrounds
  • Demonstrated ability to produce business results in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Documented track record of success
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze a business problem and develop appropriate strategy
  • Previous supervisory management experience
