PRIMARY FUNCTION / PRIMARY GOALS / OBJECTIVES:

 

The Manager, Finance oversees the global financial planning and analysis processes and requirements for the HR, Treasury and Audit functions.  Provides financial guidance in compliance with financial policies, prepares management analysis of actual vs. benchmark results, provides business decision support and leads key projects and initiatives to improve financial processes.  The Finance Manager interacts with all levels of finance and business functional leaders.  Provides required planning deliverables to meet AbbVie Corporate FP&A requirements.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

• Oversee/manage all aspects of monthly, quarterly and annual Plan, LRP and LBEs as required, including P&L, headcount, balance sheet and capital.  Partners with business and proposes solutions to operate within approved budget.
• Provides relevant variance analysis for each planning cycle and develops meaningful management reporting schedules and ensures accuracy and predictability of results and key metrics.
• Collaborates and provides routine business support to enable informed decision making to achieve functional and corporate objectives. 
• Provides financial support to both US and OUS HR leaders, with approximately 50% of the HR organization located OUS.
• Supports key functional projects and ensures proper recording and tracking of project spend or one-time costs to support project deliverables. 
• Responsible for maximizing use of planning tools to drive planning and reporting efficiencies.
• Develop and manage 3 employees to ensure an optimal level of support for the businesses supported.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting. CPA or MBA a plus
• 8-10 years of progressive and related experience
• Strong financial, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills with ability to communicate financial results with ELT member and numerous VPs effectively
• Self-starter with ability to operate independently, drive process improvements and operate with speed and agility
• Proficient with excel
• Knowledge of SAP and TM1 a plus
• Previous supervisory experience required
