Regeneron's Cell Culture Development group, within our PMPD organization located in Tarrytown NY is actively searching for a motivated person with a record of accomplishment and/or a strong interest in bioprocessing. The position presents the opportunity for process development innovation to enhance the efforts of a dynamic and data driven group. 


A Typical Day In The Role Might Look Like: 

  • Execution and development of cell culture processes using aseptic technique in glass bench scale bioreactors
  • Assessing risk, designing experiments (with proper controls) and statistically analyzing and interpreting results to develop late stage commercial processes using principles of Quality by Design (QbD).
  • Skillfully authoring/reviewing technical documents such as development reports, process transmittals, and other complex external documents
  • Actively participating in Technology Transfer Start-Up Teams, which includes technology transfer via written process transmittals and on-site support to our manufacturing facility in Rensselaer, NY during commercially enabling production campaigns
  • Make calculated risks to achieve goals. Independently and accurately determines strategies/approaches to address gaps and can implement successfully and effectively.
  • Make science-based recommendations by novel incorporation of learning from experience and internal/external (literature) references.
  • Maintain and continuously improve lab operations
  • Coordinating and collaborating with colleagues from other groups involved in the research process, including cell line development, bioreactor scale-up, purification, and manufacturing.
  • Contributing to lab equipment maintenance and safety to help create a safe, effective and efficient working environment.
  • Anticipating and recognizing improvement opportunities and/or potential problems with laboratory supplies/equipment/business processes and taking action to prevent and solve problems.
  • Keeping up with SOP training and/or compliance responsibilities
  • May directly or indirectly supervise and mentor Process Development Associates and/or Co-op students or interns in cell culture development, analyzing results, documenting findings, and performance development.
  • Work on weekend is required.

This position requires a Chemical/Biochemical Engineering Masters degree or equivalent with 3-5+ years of industrial experience, or a Chemical/Biochemical Engineering Bachelors degree with 5-7+ years of industrial experience.

Combination of an engineering and or statistics degree/minor/concentration are desirable. The applicant should be familiar with bioprocessing and statistical data analysis. Familiarity with programming or accessing data from time series/relational databases desirable but not required.
