VelocImmune (VI) Next is an innovative group that focuses on development of groundbreaking technologies and platforms at Regeneron. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated research associate to join the Oligonucleotide Therapeutics group within VI NEXT to support drug discovery and technology development work related to nucleic acid based therapeutics. The responsibilities of this position will include designing, screening and optimizing oligonucleotide based drugs for research and therapeutic purposes by employing a variety of techniques and assays. Additionally, the candidate will also be involved in research related to technology development of nucleic acid based therapeutics. Candidates are encouraged to work independently in a creative, collaborative, and dynamic team environment, with strong support for skill and career development As an R&D Associate on the VI Next team, a typical day might include the following:
•Performing research requiring molecular biology techniques including RNA, and DNA isolation and purification from cells, qPCR, flow cytometry, western blot etc. 
•Culturing, maintaining, and transfecting mammalian cell lines and primary cells
•Screening of RNA based drugs and lead optimization
•Developing assays to test new platforms
•Independently designing and performing experiments, analyzing data and presenting findings in meetings
•Keeping meticulous and organized notes 
•Maintaining lab supplies and help with lab organizationThis role might be for you if:
•You have strong organizational, time-management, and presentation skills
•You have excellent communication skills and the ability to easily work with different groups both large and small.
•You have a strong desire to develop your skills as well as your career. 
•You have a keen eye for details. To be considered for this opportunity, you must have a BS/MS with 2-4 years relevant laboratory research experience. Basic molecular biology/biochemistry techniques such as qPCR, transfection, cloning, western blot, flow cytometry. Cell culture experience with different mammalian cell types is necessary. Experience with transfection techniques such as nucleofection, lipid mediated etc. Experience with fluorescence microscopy and image analysis is highly desirable. Knowledge/experience of nucleic based therapeutics such as siRNA/ASO/Aptamers is highly desirable but not crucial. You must also have the ability to think out-of-the box, design experiments independently and trouble-shoot.
