We are looking for an Associate Manager to join Research Program Management to drive the management of Regeneron’s preclinical collaborations with non-commercial entities. The Associate Program Manager provides operational leadership and drives projects and programs, initiated by internal scientists and external collaborators, from study proposal planning to completion.

In this role, a typical day might include:

Project, Program, Portfolio Management:

  • Coordinates and drives review and approval process for Research collaborations

  • Develops and maintains a coordinated project/program tracking system relevant to Regeneron’s external facing needs and ensures alignment across relevant functions

  • Identifies and implements strategies for assessing and improving returns on investment for collaborations

  • Coordinates with Legal/Contracting and other groups to ensure accurate tracking of contracts and results.

  • Successfully prioritizes projects and programs and identifies and champions resolution of critical gaps, risks, or issues, as related to assigned programs, projects, and tasks

Communication and Team Management:

  • Owns the operational activities of cross-functional teams in a matrix organization in order to execute the collaborative strategy for the assigned projects/programs.

  • Ensures compliance with Regeneron’s policies regarding sharing materials and ensures effective, accurate, and timely communication across functional areas within projects/programs, serving as a primary point of contact for management between internal champions and external collaborators

  • Demonstrates the ability to gain cooperation of others and optimally facilitates the resolution of cross-functional issues

Discovery and Drug Development

  • Identify and understand key scientific concepts to support development of Preclinical Collaboration parameters and contracting

  • Triage external proposals to ensure relevance and potential, distilling concepts for scientific review

Process Management and Improvement:

  • Supports and supervises the standardization of processes and communication in order to build efficiencies within the department

  • Proactively identifies issues and drives to resolution. Develops contingency and troubleshooting plans as needed

System and Tools Management:

  • Develops subject matter expertise and manages Preclinical Collaborations portal/system, including development and maintenance, as well as driving implementation and compliance as a key resource for internal champions

  • Analyzes and identifies opportunities for improvement current platform/systems and or other tools for R&D, and utilizes systems to provide reports and metrics

  • Excel in team building, and communication; enabling effective analysis and reporting

  • Have excellent written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Resolve and negotiates conflicts or problems with tact, diplomacy and composure

To be considered for this role, you must have a PhD in a related field with 3+ years of experience, MS with 6+ years of relevant experience, or BS with 8+ years. We need someone who is an effective collaborator who can influence decision making and motivates others to participate within cross-functional teams. Contract management and/or tech transfer experience, or MBA a plus.
