Job Details

The Automated Biobanking Core is looking for a motivated and driven research associate to join a small and growing team responsible for operations of a fully automated cold sample storage facility. As a steward of automated biostorage technologies, this person will help assess and investigate new opportunities that will lead to increased efficiencies and improved productivity with regards to biobanking operations.

In this role, a typical day may include:

  • Work in a team responsible for operation of a network of fully automated biobanks

  • Process requests to retrieve and store barcoded samples in automated sample storage systems

  • Handle multiple parallel jobs and assure timely deliverables

  • Reconcile received samples from multiple labs and match up to request manifests

  • Assure sample integrity by maintaining rigid temperature control

  • Facilitate communication between Regeneron and third-party vendors to perform maintenance and/or upgrades to systems

  • Remotely connect to automated systems to ensure tasks are being carried out accurately

  • Track requests using LIMS and databases to ensure records are accurately maintained

  • Troubleshoot and maintain robotic freezers to minimize downtime

  • Operate equipment used to support biobank operations (2D readers/liquid handlers/tube labelers/plate labelers, etc..)

This role may be for you if you:

  • Are interested assisting in the development of new software and hardware solutions.

  • Comfortable with heavy usage of computers and robotic equipment to complete tasks

  • Have the ability to work in dynamic and changing environment

  • Have strong communication and organizational skills.

To be considered for this role you must have a Bachelors in Science, engineering, and 0-4 years of proven experience. We need someone who has experience with laboratory sample management, and can troubleshoot lab equipment. Experience with LIMS is prefered, as is experience with automated storage systems from vendors such as LiConic Instruments, Hamilton Storage or Brooks Automation.
