VelocImmune (VI) Next is an innovative group that focuses on development of groundbreaking technologies and platforms. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated researcher to support our mRNA vaccine efforts across Regeneron. We are working on various other nucleic acid therapeutic modalities such as siRNA/ASO/CRISPR, and the role will provide an opportunity to overlap and learn from these groups as well.

A day in the life of an R&D Associate in VI-Next’s nucleic acid therapy group may look like:

  • Carry out in-vitro transcription for mRNA production
  • Assay for protein expression by mRNAs in various cell types
  • Contribute to the development of analytical characterization methods for mRNA molecules for vaccine development
  • Collaborate with therapeutic focused groups to characterize and optimize construct designs based on functional activity in various in vitro and in vivo models.
  • Keeping organized record, summarize experimental data, and present them to audience with various backgrounds.
  • Work with multiple groups simultaneously on multiple different projects.
  • Meeting the timelines for reagent development.

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have a BS/MS in molecular biology, biochemistry, bioengineering or related field with 1-3 years of relevant experience. Experience with basic molecular biology techniques such as cell culture, western blot, PCR, cloning etc. is required. Experience with IVT of mRNA and purification of RNA (gel, filtration based, AKTA/HPLC etc) will be highly desirable. Knowledge of mRNA structure, function and design is a plus.
