R&D Associate, Cell Technologies

We are seeking an experienced, motivated Research associate to join our team of scientists in the Velocigene department. Using cutting edge methods to generate genetically modified mouse and rat ES cells, and human iPS cells, the Velocigene technology platform gives Regeneron unprecedented speed and capacity for the validation of therapeutic targets and the creation of new genetically engineered models of human disease. The research associate will be a key member of the ES cell engineering pipeline.

• Implement, propose and develop technology innovations that enhance our discovery capabilities.

• Perform stem cell engineering experiments.

• Validate new methods and transfer to the production workflow.

• Continually maintain cell culture and experiments, weekend hours will be required.

• Interact on a regular basis with lab members and higher-level Scientists to accomplish research goals.

• Contribute to lab upkeep to help maintain an effective and efficient working environment.

• Communicate experimental results and conclusions to Sr. management and during group meetings.

• Are a team player able to work in a fast-paced research environment with regular interactions with scientists across the organization in various departments.

• Enjoy working collaboratively, while being meticulous and organized

• Are a creative thinker, with the ability to troubleshoot and focus on continued process improvement.

To be considered for this role, you must have a Bachelors degree and a minimum of 3 years of hands-on pluripotent stem cell culture. We need someone with experience with molecular biology techniques, including but not limited to; DNA/RNA isolation, PCR, qPCR, Digital PCR, Protein isolation, Western blotting. Automation experience is a plus to enhance throughput.

Level will be commensurate with experience.
