The Manager, TRD Lab Operations and Projects, oversee all the daily activities of the TRD NC laboratory including laboratory operations associates.

Responsibilities
  • Represents the TRD NC Lab Ops Team by managing weekly projects, scheduling meetings, managing the forecast of material needs and coordinating with the warehouse to ensure materials are available for scheduled lab activities.
  • Creates, tracks and reports key performance metrics related to all lab operations incl. purchasing and inventory management, schedule adherence etc. and shares weekly status reports with management.
  • Manages the daily activities of the laboratory including managing operations projects to ensure they are completed on schedule. Coordinates project deliverables with Site & TRD PMO.
  • Tracks inventory material and sources new materials as required. Manages the expedition and revision of orders to meet the changing needs of the business.
  • Manages and develops laboratory operations associates and maintains a safe work environment. Comfort with communicating up & down as required.
  • Assists PMO head with budgeting plans for the laboratory.
  • Manages relationship with Environmental Health Services (EHS) to maintain laboratory compliance with regulatory authorities.
  • Collaborates with other stakeholders such as Engineering, Maintenance, and Facilities to ensure lab schedule is maintained.
  • Establishes quality assurance programs and manages standards and records in compliance with current regulatory standards.
  • Manages suppliers including identifying and setting up new suppliers through the Supplier Quality Management process, managing open orders and supplier performance.
  • Works closely with Strategic Procurement to negotiate supply agreements, blanket orders and long-term purchase agreements.
  • Actively collaborates with onsite warehousing leadership team to ensure storage requirements for the lab are met.
  • Assists warehouse team with any incoming receipt issues.
  • Maintains and updates the Item Master as requested.
  • Forecasts/Plans material needs to support the lab.
  • Supports rolling out and integrating LIMS to manage lab processes.
  • Drives operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • B.S. degree in supply chain, engineering, science, business or related field with 7 years of relevant experience with at least 2 years of people management experience.
  • Applied knowledge of Quality by Design, six sigma, and operational excellence tools in creating efficient and high-quality processes.
  • PMP® certification is preferred.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and adept at navigating the complexities of a large organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to perform in a virtual environment.
  • Ability to effectively interact with staff at all levels of the organization in face-to-face and remote settings.


The level of this position will be based on the final candidate's qualifications.
