We are currently searching for a Scientific Program Analyst to support Center for Global Health by providing support with Program Analyst-type qualifications, working with CGH staff, grantees, and other NCI research programs and participating in the activities of the CGH Research and Training Branch. The Program Analyst support will include organizing collaborative workgroups and organizing activities for grantees, conducting data analyses, and producing materials and resources for the purposes of building consortium activities and disseminating information to the research community. The Program Analyst support help in the conduct program reviews of CGH-led research and training grant programs. This opportunity is full-time, and it is on site in Rockville, MD.  

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Work with staff on existing projects and/or the development, initiation and execution of new project initiatives
  • Work with staff on the concept development, planning, execution, and support of all project-related activities
  • Organize and maintain project documentation and communications; track project progress using project management tools
  • Communicate with internal and external partners, researchers, and applicants, as needed
  • Conducting scientific data analyses to support global health initiatives
  • Prepare and coordinate material, data, memos, and PowerPoint presentations for meetings
  • Create scientific search criteria for locating scientific, program and related information on the internet and other means, including literature and database searches
  • Developing informational materials on grants processes
  • Conducting portfolio analysis
  • Perform logistical planning for various scientific meetings, conference calls, symposia, lectures, workshops, and special projects
  • Working with USG staff to organize grantee meetings and coordinating workgroups and online tools to support collaboration across projects and sharing of methods and measures
  • Maintain ongoing, proactive communication with key personnel throughout the initiative; gather, provide, and exchange information with Network investigators, their staff and other relevant individuals
  • Ensure that all aspects of the programs are tracked and reported, key milestones and deliverables dates are known and adhered to, and that all individuals and partners involved are kept appraised of progress of integrated tasks and next step
  • Analyze and develop presentations consisting of data from grantee progress reports to be used by Program staff and at grantee meetings in the overall analysis of Program progress
  • Conducting library and computer searches of scientific literature
  • Collect information on programs and grants to facilitate identification of scientific overlap and/or duplication, future scientific directions, workload distribution, etc
  • Perform statistical analysis, including data management cleaning, creating new variables, etc, descriptive statistics, linear regression and regression analyses, logistic regression models and survival models

Requirements
  • Minimum Education – Masters in Health Medical Professions
  • Use of Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS), Statistical Analysis System (SAS), PowerPoint, Python, Stata, Excel, WebEx, Word, R
  • Experience with writing, generating reports, data analysis, and data cleaning
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in biology or other scientific field
