The Research Assistant, Molecular Biology is responsible for working as a part of the Elo team to develop novel tools, technologies and assays as they relate to genome editing technologies, molecular cloning, plant tissue culture and general molecular biology.

**This is a temporary position lasting approximately 3 months unless renewed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs molecular cloning, including but not limited to construct purification, vector construction, plasmid DNA preparation, DNA sequencing, QC and interpretation
  • Embodies Elos spirit of impactful innovation in multiple crops using a systems-level approach to deliver meaningful products to the market

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in biological sciences from an accredited University or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Experience:
  • Documented expertise in molecular cloning and microbiology

  • This position is located at Elo Life Systems, 3054 East Cornwallis Road, Durham NC 27516. Physical presence at Elo is required for the Research Associate, Molecular Biology to be most effective.
