ROLE SUMMARY

The Manager, Global Science Communications will reside at the La Jolla, California site, and work in close partnership with the Director Site HR, business leaders, Local Site Affairs, Employment Law, Enterprise HR (Talent, Culture, Diversity & Inclusion and Total Rewards) and the Global Science internal communications network to provide guidance and support to site leaders on HR-related matters and ensure cohesive messaging of programs and processes in alignment with Business strategies and HR priorities. This includes partnering with Site HR in strategic planning, launching and communicating new programs aligned with the business and HR strategies in a manner that is cohesive and effective for both the business and colleagues.

In this role, the Manager, Global Science Communications will be part of a team that ensures HR processes and programs are strategically implemented and communicated in an effective and consistent manner across the Global Science organizations.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

The Manager, Global Science Communications will work in close partnership with Global Science Site HR, HR Leads, Local Site Affairs, Employment Law and Enterprise HR to ensure HR programs are delivered and aligned with business strategies along with HR priorities.

  • Support the La Jolla site leadership team in the development and execution of internal communication and engagement strategies.
  • Coordinate with Site HR and local site Affairs at our sites in San Francisco, CA and Boulder, CO to ensure consistent messaging across our sites.
  • Develop and edit content for internal communications utilizing site newsletters, e- signs, leader communications, FAQs, and other creative modes of messaging to ensure colleagues are kept informed.
  • Partner with other communications and HR colleagues to create an engaging, consistent colleague experience across our Global Science sites.
  • Help develop messages, events, presentations, and other communication vehicles to drive engagement around Pfizer’s Purpose Blueprint.
  • Support the execution of cultural talent management and related TC&DI programs throughout the organization.
  • Actively collaborates with other site HR colleagues to align on communications where appropriate, share best practices and provide support where needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • BA/BS in Communications/Human Resources/Journalism or related field required. Master's Degree a plus
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with communication strategy development and creation of internal employee communications
  • A portfolio of work available for review
  • Must be able to think strategically with a talent for developing messages, events, presentations and other communications vehicles to drive colleague engagement and experience.
  • Commitment to editorial excellence, including precision and timeliness.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a matrix team environment
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and respond back in a timely manner
  • A strong sense of business ethics including the ability to appropriately handle confidential information
  • Ability to execute initiatives in a timely manner with high quality
  • Ability to learn and understand the business and is motivated to continue learning
  • Experience in graphic design for esigns, video displays is desired
  • Ability to work and complete tasks independently, but also requires the ability to collaborate in a team setting
  • Self-motivated and able to use available resources and proactively reach out to others to identify and implement solutions to problems, when encountered.

      

    NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

    When travel restrictions ease, some travel from La Jolla, CA to Boulder, CO and/or San Francisco, CA may be required.
