Amgen is seeking a Senior Associate Benefits Retirement Programs administration to join the Employee Services organization and will be responsible for interacting closely with colleagues in Human Resources and Finance to provide quality services to staff internally, while collaborating with external partners to ensure a compliant administration of benefits. In conjunction with payroll and an outside vender, the Senior Associate will administer Amgens qualified and nonqualified retirement plans which includes, but is not limited to: administering annual nonqualified retirement plan distributions and coordinate bi-weekly funding process management for retirement plans.

The Senior Associate Benefits Administrator will report to the Executive Director Benefits Systems based at Amgens Capability Center in Tampa, FL. Employee Services group is a newly formed organization intended to provide a more cohesive employee services delivery model. Our service scope includes a wide array of employee touching corporate services ranging from; Staffing Operations, Benefits Administration, Payroll, HR Technology, Learning Operations, Mobility, Travel, Expense and Meetings Management among several others. By bringing these services and activities together under one organization, the Employee Services team aims to improve collaboration, share best practices, innovate and streamline processes in these areas for the entire enterprise.

Key Responsibilities for the Senior Associate Benefits Retirement Programs include:

  • Implements changes in benefit policy
    Maintains US benefit documentation updating policy and programs in partnership with COE teams
  • Manages outsourced benefit vendors serving as a process interface while tracking SLAs and providing metrics
  • Oversees User Acceptance Testing with outsourced vendors
  • Coordinates compliance filings (5500s, etc.)
  • Executes associated audits (SOX etc.)
  • Maintains and updates desk procedures
  • Supports development and distribution of benefits communications
  • Implements new programs and administrative processes
  • Collaborates directly with external partners to ensure payments to employees while maintaining compliant administration of benefits
  • Liaise with auditors, both internal and external
  • Responds to employees escalated retirement benefits queries while providing excellent customer service to a diverse and demanding customer base

    Basic Qualifications

    Masters degree

    OR

    Bachelors degree and 2 years of Human Resources/Benefits experience

    OR

    Associates degree and 6 years of Human Resources/Benefits experience

    OR

    High school diploma / GED and 8 years of Human Resources/Benefits experience

    Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years demonstrated experience, competence, and accuracy in the administration of complex benefits programs

  • Demonstrated Workday experience

  • Demonstrated experience working with outsourced vendors

  • Demonstrated customer service orientation

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Exceptional numeric and spread sheet skills (Excel)

  • Exceptional acumen in data, analytics, detail, and accuracy

  • Exceptional process-orientation approach with strong collaborative skills

  • CEBS qualification
