Manager, Enterprise Solutions Center Software Engineer

The Application Integration Solutions (AIS) Team, part of the Enterprise Solutions Center, delivers innovative integration solutions leveraging our enterprise platforms and deep integration expertise to connect our business systems across the enterprise enabling automation, innovation and rapid, secure sharing of business data.

ROLE SUMMARY

As a Manager, The Software Engineer technical role will work with business clients, architects, solutions engineers, platform engineers, application hosting services and other partners to design, develop and deliver high value, high quality technology software solutions in support of Digital projects to enable the connectivity and data sharing of Pfizer and Partner systems, internal or external to Pfizer. Other key responsibilities include optimizing the software development operations and continuous integration processes within the team and also leading cross functional technical collaboration and organizing events with peer colleagues to develop, share and promote the reuse and standardization of digital solutions with the Digital and Technology organization.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Hands on design, development, deployment and maintenance of integration processes between applications across cloud and/or on premise using Dell Boomi AtomSphere platform (Cloud Integration, Application Integration and Enterprise web services APIs)

• Generates, revises, updates, compiles, debugs and writes business, scientific, or software computer systems in support of Business Solution Integration for systems across Pfizer. Works with clients and other Digital personnel to develop business requirements and functional specifications.

• Act as the senior application engineer providing hands on support and mastery in following areas : 1. Software Design and Development 2. APIs 3. Design and development of Integration Services 4. ESB, Messaging and Event Driven Architectures 5. Design and implementation of scalable enterprise integration platform systems, cloud native and on-premise.

• Responsible for the security, quality, reliability, performance, scalability, availability and supportability of the delivered solutions, systems and configurations.

• Providing technical and engineering expertise throughout all phases of the development life cycle. Responsible for systems analysis, system design and code development, unit and integration testing, code reviews and authoring technical documentation and standards.

• Partnering with architects, application developers, web engineers, database engineers, designers and computing infrastructure personnel in the creation, configuration and delivery of solutions.

• Act as the technical integration subject matter expert to other IT disciplines and service providers including engagement managers, architects, application hosting services, platform engineers and shared services.

• Responsible to understand all aspects of the hardware and software configurations and interdependencies of Pfizer systems for which custom software is being architected design and built.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must-Have

• BS in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.

• 5+ years experience across a wide range of technologies and disciplines. Must be fluent in every aspect of software/systems analysis, architecture, design, development, and implementation

• 5+ years experience building successful Application Integration implementations. Experience with Dell Boomi is required and MuleSoft Anypoint is also preferred

• Extensive experience with API/Web Services required including technologies REST, SOAP/WSDL, JSON, XPath, XSLT, XML and XSD is required

• 5+ years experience designing and developing business solutions using Java and/or .NET programming languages

• Must have a proven record of delivering business critical projects solutions that provide business value from Information Technology for the corporation.

• Must have experience in large scale enterprise platform product implementations with broad exposure to different industry leading technologies such as Java, MS .NET, Web Services/SOA/ESB, Messaging/Middleware, Mule ESB, SQL, Oracle DB etc.

• Strong senior leader with interpersonal, verbal, written communication and presentation skills

• Experience forming and leading virtual teams and collaborating across large, matrixed organizations

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Nice-To-Have

• Masters degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Engineering or Technology Management

• Dell Boomi Professional Level Certifications (Developer, Architect, and Administration). Integration experience using Dell Boomi as the iPaaS solution with SQL to NetSuite

• Experience with Application scripting languages such as Groovy, JavaScript, PHP, Ruby, etc.

• Must have extensive experience with build management software such as MAVEN and Apache ANT

• Must have experience with Continuous Integration including tools such as Jenkins

• Must have experience with Application Software Testing and Application Logging methodologies and tools.

• Solid technical intuition with the ability to quickly pick up new technologies

• Self-learner

• Solid understanding of interoperability issues and the strengths and weaknesses of software platforms and tools, and able to provide a trusted voice at the decision-making table during the entire systems lifecycle

• Work experience should involve a mix of business and technology consulting and execution across the lifecycle of Information Technology (examples may include assessment and analysis, design, architecture, systems development and deployment)

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to visually design high level and low level software architecture diagrams using standard based software modeling patterns

• Ability to perform complex software design and development

• Ability to effectively assemble, document and communicate software design best practices
