The Associate Security Consulting position within the Security Consulting & Testing team will engage with business and technology teams to secure digital solution projects globally.  The incumbent will engage with and influence business and technology project teams to identify, evaluate, design, and implement technology solutions that are secure.  The incumbent will also steer the business in making risk-based decisions based on risk tolerance, potential impact, cost, and mitigating controls. The position is an individual contributor role with leadership and engagement with cross functional internal colleagues and external partners and reports to the Security Consulting & Testing, Senior Manager within the GIS organization.

Role Responsibilities

  • Provide security representation to Pfizer business and technology solution projects in support of the security consultancy services to ensure secure outcomes.

  • Implement innovative and advanced new concepts to solve business problems securely.

  • Support and present recommendations and decisions to project teams.

  • Engage on multiple, concurrent, projects meeting project timelines and delivering defined results.

  • Respond to ad hoc security questions and provide security guidance to organizations in the company

  • Research products and vendor capabilities and external security landscape, especially cloud service providers, offerings and controls.

  • Understanding of industry frame-works and best practices: Cloud Security Alliance, NIST, CIS, OWASP, MITRE.

  • Work effectively in a team environment, including cross-unit and cross-divisional teams, and maintain poise and composure in difficult situations, with a professional attitude at all times.

Basic Qualifications

  • BS required; Information Security related majors preferred

  • Entry level with no years of experience required

  • Entry level understanding of TCP/IP, common networking ports and protocols, traffic flow, system administration, OSI model, defense-in-depth and common security elements.

  • Entry level knowledge of the Windows operating system, system utilities, admin functions, VMs and Cloud

  • Understanding of cloud services and solutions, operating systems, network protocols, virtualization, and application development

  • Entry level knowledge of Internet of Thing devices

  • Ability to proactively solve complex problems both individually and as part of a team

  • Passion to learn about emerging technologies
