Sr. Analyst, Interface Developer/LIMS Specialist/System Engineering
The qualified individual will utilize knowledge of informatics in developing, or engineering, custom workflows within the framework for Vaccine Research & Development laboratory information systems and ensure they are connected securely to instruments, equipment, and other systems. The customer base consisting of clinical labs, sample management, data management, and automation/robotics have a wide array of custom needs found throughout early to late phase clinical testing, complex epidemiology, exploratory research experimentation, and in-vivo assays. The individual will partner with other engineers and analysts both within the informatics team but also across many business lines. An understanding of the software development lifecycle is needed and advanced knowledge of computer programming languages, especially LIMS, SAS, R, SQL, or similar and interface APIs like SOAP and REST protocols. Optimizing the exchange of data between LIMS (laboratory information management system) and other systems for both performance and increased data integrity is core to the role.
Work will occur on-site although end-user support of external partners may be required. Rarely, travel will be required when working on global project implementations. The individual will take day-to-day direction from the LIMS Architect lead and other senior leaders within the informatics team and will be expected to work independently most of the time. The individual will have strong communication/collaboration skills; s/he will be expected to deliver results for milestones associated with large scale projects, training of end-users on complex tasks, and/or delivery of bug fixes. The individual will have a strong passion for innovation, especially in adding efficiencies to subroutines and improving performance of algorithms.
