ROLE SUMMARY
Pfizer GBS Sourcing & Enterprise Service delivers world-class procurement capabilities to Pfizer, partnering with internal Pfizer customers to ensure they receive maximum value for every dollar spent with Pfizer suppliers. This is a global role category role, based in Pfizer Tampa, within the Pfizer Biopharma Group, Sales and Marketing category team, covering Marketing Agencies Sales Services and Patient Support Programs, Patient Access.
The role provides flexible procurement support across but not limited to these categories, globally.
Category Management teams are responsible for Center-led Category Management and Strategic Sourcing capability across PBG Commercial spend categories, ensuring all elements of category knowledge are in place and operating effectively at the market/cluster/region level.
The Category Strategy Manager is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of global / multi-markets strategies for the procurement of Marketing & Sales Services and/or other critical projects for Indirect Procurement as required.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
The key tasks include, but are not limited to:
Develop and foster global category strategies and deliver high added value support to key stakeholders.
Provide Sourcing Support for all phases of the sourcing process, including project identification and start up, data collection and analysis, option development and recommendation preparation, implementation and supplier management.
Initiate, develop and prepare Opportunity Analysis, Make or Buy for specific spend areas and projects. Deliver targets established for the year.
Develop market expertise in assigned spend categories and remain current on supply market trends, business economics and best sourcing practices that impact the supply market and/or supplier economics.
Execute Sourcing Rf(x) and negotiations and to develop maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure that stakeholder requirements are met and supplier performance is measured and maintained at the appropriate service levels.
Lead and/or participate in multiple market complex, global strategic sourcing initiatives:
Lead or participate in cross-functional teams, often comprised of local, regional and global business and Procurement representatives, to ensure effective development and delivery of sourcing strategies.
Translate the requirements of the subject matter experts into contractual requirements and deliverables.
As assigned will develop, maintain, and foster implementation of comprehensive, long range, sourcing strategies and plans for assigned category spend areas.
Provide customer relationship management to key stakeholders across different BUs.
Be responsible for organization, implementation and ongoing management.
Ensure proactive and relevant strategies are delivered in a timely manner aligned with current and future business requirements.
Educate and engage leaders in procurement, supporting the delivery and application of Sourcing Frameworks and tools to advance standardization and optimization of sourcing execution.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree Desirable.
5 – 10 years relevant experience in procurement category management.
Candidate must have demonstrated proficiency in managing complex, cross-functional activities.

Demonstrated knowledge of procurement systems, processes and procedures.
Analytical and negotiation skills and techniques.
Management skills in assessing business issues.
Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal interactions skills.
