Sr Associate, Buyer, PBG Procurement Marketing and Sales Services

This is a global role category role, based in Pfizer Tampa, within the Pfizer Biopharma Group Procurement category team, supporting Indirect categories including Professional Services, Consulting, HR and Commercial spend.
The role provides flexible procurement support across but not limited to these categories, globally.
Category Management teams are responsible for Center-led Category Management and Strategic Sourcing capability across PBG Commercial spend categories, ensuring all elements of category knowledge are in place and operating effectively at the market/cluster/region level.
The Working as part of a team of Global Procurement professionals, the Senior Associate role will be responsible for the complex intelligence data gathering and reporting required in the development of category strategies.
The role will support the Global Procurement Team in the evaluation of business opportunities, supplier capabilities, sourcing solutions and complex sourcing initiatives, working directly with external third parties and making recommendations based on data available.
In collaboration with Category Strategy Managers, regional and market Procurement colleagues, the role will also manage project work in support of team goals and as assigned, execute category strategy, sourcing and negotiation and/or supplier relationship management activities as outlined.
The key tasks include, but are not limited to:
I - Category strategy collaboration and operational implementation:
Support the analytical requirements defined by the Procurement reporting line, including but not limited to:
Data gathering (internal and external) including Business requirements.
Market and supplier analysis.
Data management or treatment and interpretation.
Work with internal functional experts, suppliers, and, at times consultants, to define, implement and document various procurement team strategies and operational improvement efforts.
Develop well-rounded industry knowledge in various subcategory groupings including Professional Services, Consulting, HR and other Indirect commercial categories.
II - Sourcing activity and contract negotiation:
Support Procurement Colleagues, as needed, in sourcing events, including supplier due diligence activities to determine alignment with Pfizer requirements and partnership prospects for the longer term.
Track and resolve project issues and concerns related to sourcing and operational initiatives.
Take ownership for delivering end to end sourcing activity for appropriate complexity projects and execute buying as required.
III - Supplier relationship management:
Support your Procurement Colleagues in delivering effective supplier performance management including the utilization and compliance to the Pfizer Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) process.
IV - Client engagement and customer relationship management:
Support your Procurement colleagues in managing the internal relationships with the business stakeholders, including senior leaders.
Build a strong network of functional contacts, including Finance and Business Process Optimization (BPO) teams, to enable optimal execution of your responsibilities and operational requirements of the team.
Engage with your counterparts in other Procurement teams to share knowledge and best practice.
V - Business process and compliance:
Support team project activities to assure tasks are executed among team in quality and timely manner.
Maintain a current knowledge of available information databases and emerging tools and technology that will best support the procurement and operational initiatives.
Ensure that procurement Share sites are properly managed and maintained, or created if needed.
VI - Reporting:
Produce data analysis reporting in appropriate format for use by Procurement colleagues.
Coordinate financial reporting activities.
Provide compliance reporting against policy, processes, systems and suppliers.
Prepare discussion content (summary level or detail level) as needed for team meetings, stakeholder discussions, and sourcing events.
VII - People management and development:
Act as a mentor to Associate colleagues to support their growth and development.
Bachelor's Degree is required; Masters level degree is highly preferred.
Related work experience in Procurement or Finance discipline is required, ideally within a large, complex multi-national company. Broad knowledge of finance and accounting; excellent analytical skills.
Experience managing multiple tasks, competing priorities and conflicts; producing value added results.
Experience with problem solving situations; includes approaches used, tools, tactics used; managing for effective outcomes.
3+ years relevant experience for Senior Associate.
High competency with analytical and reporting tools (including MS Excel and PowerPoint).
Fundamentals of Project Management, including experience leading projects.
Understanding of analytical models and techniques.
Excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
Works more independently and receives supervision and instruction for complex problems.
Uses rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions.
