The OSL is accountable for developing and implementing mid-to long-term supply chain strategies in support of execution of new programs and initiatives that include forecast and coordination for key packaging, distribution, and logistics events. The OSL is also accountable for monitor the effectiveness of the operational strategies, and partnering with functional line leads in CSO to ensure seamless implementation of operational strategies.
OSL is the CSO point of contact with Supply Chain Leads (SCL) on CSO operational strategy, and projects will be assigned at a program level. This position, working independently and influencing others without having a direct reporting relationship, coordinates the fulfilment of customer requests while providing excellent customer service. This role strives to utilize technology and industry trend information to proactively contribute to improving effectiveness of integrated packaging and logistics strategies.
- Develop positive and collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders across Medicinal Sciences and other partner lines. Contribute to strategic and continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure excellence in CSO contributions to Clinical Supply Team project management teams, including the use of harmonized tools and systems, to deliver cost effective, high quality clinical supplies to patients according to agreed timelines. Proactively ensure quality and compliance through risk identification and mitigation plans, strategic planning and execution, and overall design input.
- Assist CSO Leadership with strategic development of CSO roles to support evolving needs of stakeholders and patients, and represent CSO to be a member of Tetrad.
- Evaluate current processes on an on-going basis and make recommendations for continuous improvement in the Packaging and Distribution operating model
- Support fiscal accountability to projects by refining project specific costs.
- Partner with CSO functional line leaders to support the effort to further develop/ refine human resource capacity analysis for CSO to align resource with project needs according to portfolio priorities
- Lead and/or contribute to strategic and continuous improvement initiatives to support the CSO and GCS organization.
- Ensure compliance with all legal requirements (e.g., EHS, cGMP, GCP, import/export, Quality Standards, 21 CFR Part 11) by creating and maintaining a culture committed to quality; accountable for maintaining training and compliance required for the role; enhance quality and compliance on a site and patient basis utilizing risk and mitigation plans; and assess cross functional impact of procedure/ process changes to CSO processes.
- Interface directly with GCS and other groups within Medicinal Sciences in order to provide timely and responsive guidance and issue resolution regarding packaging and distribution activities.
- Work with PCs and DS’s to Establish Program level integrated CSO operational strategies with Clinical Supply Teams (CST). Contribute to decisions on country feasibility and strategy discussions well in advance of the protocol decisions. Ownership of timing and challenges on country movements in order to meet project requirements.
- Ensure excellent customer service through the development of strong working relationships with key customers and partners leaders to facilitate open lines of communication regarding project priorities, and issue resolution.
- Primary interface for Clinical Supply Strategy & Management (CSSM)/ Supply Chain Leads (SCL) on CSO operational strategies; Triage issues and provide appropriately detailed updates to CSO leadership.
- Utilize project management skills to develop robust packaging and distribution/ logistics planning and management tools; optimize operational strategy to ensure patient continuity; high quality project oversight and activity review.
The incumbent will devote majority of the time in first year to be trained on Packaging Coordinator (PC) procedures and provide support to the assigned CSP jobs.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- MBA, MA/MS with 5+ years of relevant experience or
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Project Management (or equivalent) with 7+ years of relevant experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Project Management Professional Qualification
- Advanced training in project management, supply chain management, scientific or clinical disciplines, business administration and/or people development are desirable.
- Work experience in project management, supply chain management or business analytics, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry
- Six Sigma training and/or certification
