Talent Acquisition Manager – Research & Development

AbbVie is seeking an experienced recruitment manager who will support & lead recruitment activities in support of our Bay Area R&D organization. 

In this role you will lead the recruitment efforts for AbbVie’s R&D organization based in California. You will lead a team of experienced recruiters and will deliver proactive recruiting strategies through the use of market insights and data to position AbbVie as the employer of choice in the biopharma industry.


Key Accountabilities include:


  • Lead a team of recruiting professionals accountable for hiring all levels within the R&D organization in our west coast locations, developing the team to be true talent advisors for the organization as it relates to recruiting.
  • Collaborates with Human Resource partners, Business leaders and HR COE partners to understand skill requirements, background and experience needed, passionate about delivering a high- quality experience for our candidates and hiring managers.
  • Based on market knowledge/research, external network and existing internal programs, the TA Manager will provide comprehensive internal and external recruitment strategy to meet demand plan. Identifies and problem solves pro-actively.



Qualifications – 

  • Minimum 5-7 years of recruitment experience in a competitive, fast paced environment
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Strong track record of sourcing and recruiting in the Healthcare/ Life Sciences market preferred
  • Prior staff management experience strongly preferred
  • Strong assessment skills to assess candidate’s business capabilities, technical - background and key behaviors
  • Strong skills in driving and owning the TA process ensuring candidate and client management satisfaction
  • Professional, accountable, high energy and collaborative team player
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build professional relationships across all levels of the business
