The Executive Recruiter is integral to the success of Gilead's talent strategy. Attracting the right executives is critical to our ability to innovate on behalf of our patients. In the role you own the search strategy from beginning to end for the most sought-after leadership talent in the industry. You will partner with business leaders to define and execute recruiting strategies that increase representation, resulting in high-performing, diverse leadership teams at Gilead. You are a trusted advisor to hiring leaders and partners throughout the search process, providing regular updates and high touch experiences.

  • Develop and lead the end-to-end recruitment process for vice president and above level hiring across the enterprise
  • Partner closely with senior leader hiring managers to provide value-added talent acquisition advice, guidance, and collaboration on executive searches
  • Conduct and manage research to identify and cultivate candidates that enable our ability to effectively scale the way we hire and develop the best
  • Proactively create unique and robust search strategies that will identify strong talent and diverse pools that meet the needs of the business and deliver the right leaders for the right roles at the right time
  • Continually contribute to the knowledge base of both our team and executives by sharing intelligence related to relevant industries and talent segments and pools
  • Build out talent networks in pharmaceutical and biotech sectors, tapping knowledgeable industry sources to develop an ongoing list of passive talent
  • Provide outstanding thought partnership to customers to shape and best match the needs of Gilead and the talent in the market
  • Partner with compensation to build offer models, extend, and negotiate offers
  • Track milestones and timelines across projects, analyzing and communicating project risks and issues as necessary, making adjustments to project plans, timelines or resources to ensure successful project delivery
  • Partner with HR Analytics and reporting teams to provide data, trends, and analysis
  • Ensure data integrity within applicant tracking system and candidate relationship management system
  • Collaborate closely with human resources to forecast hiring needs, identify internal talent for open roles, and ensure smooth onboarding for new hires.
  • In partnership with compensation, provide guidance on compensation packages
  • Lead and/or participate in cross-business/cross-company special projects and initiatives related to talent acquisition
  • Focus on providing a great candidate experience at every opportunity

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Human Resources
  • 10+ years of full lifecycle talent acquisition experience with proven experience leading an executive search from inception to hire
  • Well-versed in all aspects of an executive search including creative candidate sourcing/research, candidate generation and development, executive customer management and offer negotiation
  • Persuasive communicator who can effectively engage the attention of executive stakeholders, and articulate complex situations in a polished and professional manner
  • Ability to influence business decisions and drive results
  • Experience working with large complex organizations during periods of growth and change
  • Experience handling sensitive/confidential information
  • Experience with sophisticated compensation negotiations
  • Experience using talent acquisition systems, including Applicant Tracking, Candidate Relationship Management, and other analytics tools
  • Previous life sciences industry experience strongly preferred
