This position is a leadership role within Purchasing and Supplier Management (PSM) and is responsible for providing direction, support, as well as program management, oversight, and reporting to the PSM staff and leadership team. This position is responsible for developing and leading strategic initiatives for the organization. The incumbent develops, communicates, implements, maintains, and reports out on a strategic set of central tools and processes to deliver against our key imperatives. PSM has a matrixed leadership team and provides support to a broad set of internal stakeholders not limited to Operations, R&D, Commercial, Legal, Compliance, and Finance. This individual is responsible for a broad range of activities directly impacting programs, process and continuous improvement, communication, metrics and dashboards, tracking and reporting of goals and objectives, strategic imperatives, and ad hoc priorities supporting the pipeline and other on market products.                    

Responsibilities:

•Centrally leads high priority/profile strategic initiatives for the organization.
•Maintains subject matter expertise across their respective PSM function and stakeholder group(s) to provide input, guidance, oversight, and tracking/reporting of imperatives and projects.
•Directly oversees program management governance which includes tracking, reporting, issue escalation, communication with management and stakeholders, and enables continuous process improvements.
•Works with the functional leadership team to establish and maintain key performance indicators and metrics.
•Identifies and secures project resources/direct report staff, delegates responsibilities and authority on the basis of skills and effectiveness. Works directly with PSM leadership team to remove any barriers for success of strategic imperatives
•Provides project and program management for PSM-wide projects, ensuring success and delivery.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

•Bachelors degree in Science, Computer Science, Business, or Project Management required. Project or Program Management Professional (PMP or PgMP), Business Excellence/Lean Six Sigma or equivalent credentials preferred; Master’s degree in Science, Business, or Project Management preferred

•Five to seven years of relevant experience in the pharma or biotech industry preferred. 10+ years previous project management experience preferred, including management of large complex programs and cross-functional teams.
•Requires excellent relationship management and communication skills, seasoned judgment, tact, and the ability to work effectively with personnel at varying levels within the organization. Effective in driving process improvement initiatives.
•Must have extensive experience conceiving, creating, and delivering business presentations to senior management; strong conflict resolution and problem solving skills; strong organizational skills with a focus on details; demonstrated ability to manage and lead teams.
•Relevant experience in budget and financial management, contracts, process improvements, and/or compliance.
•Recognized leader in standard business procedures such as program management, portfolio review, finance, and budgeting. Excellent cross-functional negotiating skills.
•Drug development or process/project management related experience required. Cross-functional and global project team leadership experience required.
•Expert technology skills (e.g., MS Office software, SharePoint Skills) required.
