GreenLight Biosciences seeks Genomics Scientist/Computational Biologist in Medford, MA. Develop algorithms/applications for Plant and Human Health applications, including: design algorithms for biological sequence analyses, mining & design; develop strategies to mine datasets (NGS and other experimental data); translate data into biological knowledge and communicate with appropriate visualizations; work with other scientists to understand bioinformatics needs of projects/deliver computational solution; perform bioinformatics analyses including mapping, genome/ transcriptome assembly, gene identification, annotation, and sequence design/mining. Reqs: PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Statistics, Genetics or equiv. 1 yr post-grad exp in areas of sequence analysis, genomics, bioinformatics, pipeline development, proteomics, molecular biology, sequencing or related computational biology/bioinformatics areas and 1 yr exp developing analysis pipelines for solving biological problems (exp can be gained concurrently). Strong knowledge of: coding in Python; R as toolset for data analysis/manipulation; creating user interfaces using R-Shiny or Python; high-performance computing environments including cloud infrastructures such as Azure, AWS or Google Cloud; bioinformatics methods for NGS applications; public/proprietary bioinformatics/genome analysis tools; JIRA, Trello, Confluence and GitHub or other subversion; statistical/machine learning concepts; scientific data analysis.
