Just is seeking a motivated and hardworking team member who desires a significant opportunity to improve worldwide access to biotherapeutics. This person will join a fast-paced, collaborative, and multidisciplinary team to supply and support cell culture media preparation in a research and development lab. The successful candidate will be an integral part of our media development activities and has experience in cell physiology and mammalian cell culture, as well as meticulous laboratory skills. The position requires significant attention to detail, self-motivation, and an understanding of sterile technique and solution preparation. Knowledge of cell metabolism and/or complex chemical mixture properties and mixing behaviors is a plus. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively over teleconference and web-based meetings, are necessary. The ideal candidate is curious, creative, engaged, works well independently and in teams, and constantly looks for ways to improve processes and technology.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and perform cell culture assays to test media formulations
  • Develop and prepare novel media and feed formulations for use in cell culture experiments
  • Maintain analytical equipment and shared lab space
  • Support client projects and other lab functions as needed
  • Research and evaluate new technologies

Preferred qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in biology, biochemistry, bioengineering or a related field
  • Experience with cell culture or fermentation
  • Experience preparing cell growth media or buffer solutions
  • Understanding/experience in aseptic technique
  • Experience with Microsoft Office or Google Drive Suite applications
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds

Pluses:
  • Experience with mammalian cell media or cultures
  • Experience with solution preparation in a manufacturing or regulated environment
  • An understanding of design of experiments and related statistical analysis
  • Working knowledge of statistical software (JMP, SAS, R) or programming languages (Python)
