Financial Lead, Alliance Accounting
The Finance Lead, Alliance Accounting will perform both the financial planning, analysis processes and reporting requirements for a portfolio of assigned licensing and collaboration arrangements managed by the Alliance Accounting group as well as provide guidance to one direct report. The role comes with high visibility to Senior Management, internally and externally, and requires a highly energetic and motivated individual willing to gain broad exposure.
Primary responsibility is to ensure licensor payments and corresponding reporting and planning obligations associated with an assigned portfolio of licensing and collaboration agreements are prepared timely for internal and external review by Senior Management.
Support Alliance Managers with negotiating terms within the agreements and facilitation of deliverables outlined in licensing and collaboration agreements. Requires development of procedures and methodology with 3rd party counterparties to ensure tracking for licensing and collaboration agreements is consistent with contractual terms.
Consult with Licensing and Business Development on new agreements.
Develop models and presentations for financial analysis as required by Management, Legal, and Commercial for contract negotiations and litigation issues.
Coordinate with Global Commercial Finance to develop models for Plan/Update/LBE/LRP projections for assigned portfolio of licensing and collaboration agreements.
Prepare licensor payments in accordance with corporate guidelines and submit for approval. Finance Lead must also ensure royalty and milestone obligations associated with 3rd party licensing and collaboration agreements are met and properly recorded.
Supervisor must coordinate FP&A, tax, audit, and legal requirements associated with portfolio of assigned agreements.
Support audit requests and ad-hoc internal projects.
5-6 years of progressive accounting or financial experience required. Requires strong analytical and organizational skills as well as a high degree of interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with external parties and internal support functions. Attention to detail, independent and pro-active thought, and decision making skills are necessary. Must be able to work well independently and in a team oriented environment and successfully lead and supervise personnel.
Position requires BS in Accounting or Finance. CPA, CMA, or MBA are strongly encouraged.
