    Role and Responsibilities:

    The Distribution Specialist II Shipping and Receiving will be responsible coordinating shipments of product to third party CMOs, as well as samples for third-party testing. The associate will also assist in receiving duties and inventory transfers of select GMP materials.

    Primary responsibilities include:
    • Coordinates and supports all GMP shipments by:
    • Processing shipment request forms for upcoming shipments
    • Working with requesting departments to ensure all shipping conditions/data is met and collected
    • Scheduling courier's or approved suppliers to pick up shipments
    • Physically preparing goods for shipment
    • Maintaining a safe and clean shipping and receiving area
    • Processing domestic and international paperwork to ensure compliance of shipments
    • Enters data in logs and maintain records; completes shipping and receiving reports.
    • Processes all receiving paperwork at the end of each work day
    • Writes work orders when necessary.
    • Performs receipt of select GMP materials in accordance with established procedures
    • Assist with material movements and transfers in ERP system, following appropriate SOPs
    • Follow all applicable SOPs and work instructions.
    • Adheres to all safety and compliance requirements for shipping and receiving on a continual basis.
    • Maintains a safe and clean shipping and receiving area


    Knowledge, Experience and Skills:
    • 0+ years of related experience and High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
    • Prior experience with inventory maintenance and shipping and receiving in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical environment is strongly preferred.
    • Use of an Inventory/Receiving management system strongly preferred
    • CDL with Hazmat Endorsement strongly preferred


    Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

    Environment: Work is performed in a cleanroom GMP Warehouse, on loading docks, and occasionally in an R&D environment. Exposure to cytotoxic/potent and caustic chemicals. Exposure to variable weather conditions on loading docks. Potential exposure to human blood, serum, and tissues.

    Physical: Must be able to: lift up to 50 lbs.; frequently push up to 200 lbs. on wheels (e.g., waste drums, raw material barrels, WFI barrels); maneuver/transport compressed gasses; operate a barrel lift (training is provided); and stand for long periods of time.

    Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction; vision sufficient to read computer screens and printed documents.

    Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
