Summary The purpose of the Director of Market Insights & Analytics and Competitive Intelligence is to direct plan and execute the global market research plan and CI analytics for oncology during all phases of Pre- & Post- launch commercialization to help the global oncology marketing team of maximize the life-time value (sales and profit) of products with global potential. The job is based in the US.
Responsibilities
    • In liaison with the Brand Strategic Plan for multiple assets, provide directly and through the team a Market Insight plan to support market knowledge and customer insights at different stage of the product development
    • Secure execution of the market insight plan through robust methodology in a timely manner and through a highly selection of the most expert matter vendors
    • Secure consistency and create synergies between the different brands by maintaining the same framework of key deliverables
    • Develop an integrated plan with regional activities to avoid duplication of efforts including influence on regional MIA
    • Create a strategic partnership with all insight resources and help Brand teams to identify knowledge gaps in an integrated manner.
    • Be an influential voice as a business partner for each Brand Leads regarding market insight and analytics need for their respective Brands
    • Support Brand leads in the financial assessment of new opportunities
    • Develop a repository of market knowledge for each tumor type that will become a reference document for all Brand team and that will feed the tumor strategic document
    • Develop and execute a competitive intelligence plan to support different brands in different business opportunities
    • Secure execution of the competitive intelligence plan through robust methodology in a timely manner and through a highly selection of the most expert matter vendors
    • Beyond data collection, articulate key competitor’s strategy to inform Brand leads on new threats and opportunities for a given Brand
    • Coordinate the communication on competitive intelligence in an actionable manner
    • Interface with regions to share outputs of competitive intelligence as well as to get an integrated plan with regions to avoid duplication
    • Operate Competitive Intelligence within Daiichi Sankyo SOPs and highest standard of professional conduct
    • Foster expertise in MIA & CI within the team by recruiting the right talent and developing capabilities in the team
Qualifications: Successful candidates will be able to meet the qualifications below with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Education Qualifications (from an accredited college or university)Bachelor's Degree and an emphasis in health sciences required
MBA or advance degree preferred Experience Qualifications
  • 10 or More Years pharmaceutical experience, of which at least 4-6 years in marketing research or business analytics required

  • 10 or More Years in MIA vendors could be considered

  • 4 or More Years Oncology experience

  • Experience of US market highly preferred

  • Global experience

  • Superior analytical skills with an understanding of a broad range of marketing research methodologies; qualitatively and quantitatively required

  • Expertise with required market research studies and methodologies for all lifecycle phases, including but not limited to: Brand personality and naming, positioning, messaging, concepting, targeting/segmentation, forecasting, advertising development, pricing, awareness tracking and usage, advertising effectiveness, patient persistency and loyalty, patient education materials and internet marketing preferred

  • Proficiency with regional market research suppliers for primary and secondary data and the capabilities including contract/networking with vendors necessary to assess performance of products, markets, and companies both in and outside of the US preferred
