US Brand Director, Biosimilars Marketing


What you will do

AMJEVITA will be the first adalimumab biosimilar to be approved by the FDA and will be authorized for the treatment of the same inflammatory diseases as the reference brand. The launch of AMJEVITA is an important milestone for our inflammation biosimilar portfolio, as its launch further demonstrates Amgens commitment to providing patients with serious illnesses access to high-quality biological therapies.

The US Marketing Director for AMJEVITA is a key member of the US Commercial Team; focused on leading the successful brand launch and maximizing the commercial potential of AMJEVITA with the Rheumatology, Gastroenterology and Dermatology specialties. The candidate will be responsible for working with internal cross functional partners to set the brand launch strategy and delivery of marketing tactics across channels to ensure a strong, sustained launch trajectory. The US Marketing Director will have a minimum of one direct report, lead extensively across all functions, manage external agencies, and allocate resources across the marketing mix to enhance return on investment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leads the development and execution of AMJEVITA launch Plan across functions

  • Determines and optimizes the tactical mix by audience across all aspects of the patient journey

  • Develops detailed and effective communication plans and messages

  • Develops and refines customer segmentation and targeting

  • Website and digital strategy development and execution

  • Leads the development and execution of Semester meetings and training plan

  • Aligns with Sales leadership on Sales Representative directives, POA, training

  • Analyzes customer brand/competitor performance, develops and tracks important metrics

  • Participates in development of the Inflammation Biosimilars Brand Plan

  • Leads key brand deliverables such as LRP, LE/forecast, quarterly business review processes

  • Tier 1 & Tier 2 trade show plan

  • MAC management and prioritization

  • Agency management (AOR and Production Studio)

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 4 years Marketing experience


Masters degree and 6 years of Marketing years


Bachelors degree and 8 years of Marketing experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated ability to shape product strategy, leveraging a breadth of perspectives spanning payer, access, policy, and competitive dynamics

  • Strong ability to translate strategy into succinct, meaningful tactics, ensuring laser focused execution across channels

  • Shape the future of the US footprint for the brand through a comprehensive assessment of the competitive environment and crystallizing opportunities/challenges for AMJEVITA

  • Lead effectively across extensive cross-functional team

  • Partner effectively with CD&A/CI to identify outstanding business questions, design and execute relevant primary market research and secondary data analytic queries, uncover key insights, and nimbly adjust brand strategy/tactical plan

  • Engage and take full accountability for all aspects of the role with demonstrated ability to prioritize tactics and issues

  • Establish relationships with all agency partners and effectively coach team members through effective agency management. (high quality work, budget execution, and timelines)

  • Demonstrate a sense of shared ownership of overall brand and inflammation business unit performance

  • Own budget and performance accountability for all tactics and initiatives

  • Live and role model Amgen Values

  • 3 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources

  • Access and payer experience
