Director, Global Supply Chain (Distribution & Logistics)

Location: London or EU Remote

Reporting to: VP, Global Supply Chain and Business Operations

Job Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated, collaborative, and service-oriented individual for Director, Global Supply Chain reporting to the Vice President, Global Supply Chain and Business Operations, to be based at the London office or remote. This individual will be responsible for patient supply logistics, including end to end order management and patient scheduling. This role will require building strong internal and external relationships with Qualified Treatment Centers, Supply Chain, Quality and Country Leads throughout the Patient and Product Journey. This individual will also lead GMP Logistics and associated transfer of raw materials, vector, and plasmid, in coordination with External Development & Manufacturing.

Key elements and responsibilities

Global Patient Supply
  • Develop trusted relationships with qualified treatment centers to ensure seamless order processing and patient scheduling. Partner closely with the Commercial, Medical and Supply Chain teams to ensure manufacturing slots are aligned with patient scheduling.
  • Lead global commercial order management ensuring successful execution of sales order entry and sales order maintenance.
  • Lead clinical patient supply activities. Partner with clinical operations, CRO and clinical site to schedule patient treatment
  • Initiate Chain of Identity (COI) for each patient treatment and manage COI traceability and Chain of Custody (COC) processes throughout the entire patient and product journey to ensure safe and compliant patient treatment. Work closely with Supply Chain and QA to review and monitor COI and COC documentation to ensure patient safety and compliance throughout each patient journey
  • Manage vendors such as specialty distributors, logistics providers and others to ensure timely delivery of product to patient.
  • Attend S&OP Planning Meetings and provide updates and direction on patient scheduling.
  • Lead key distribution projects including integration of new products and readiness for scaleup of launches including expanding to other regions
  • Partner with commercial and market access teams to evaluate, select and onboard US specialty distributor and other regional distributors as needed
  • Continuously improve distribution process, including evaluating or establishing new vendors (couriers, distributors or other)
  • Establish wholesaler distributor license when required
  • Ad-hoc support as needed for site qualification and training of qualified treatment centers.
  • Work with cross-functional team to implement and maintain orchestration platform for chain of identity and chain of custody. Develop and maintain SOPs and order management playbook
  • Participate in audits and GMP inspections as required
  • Drive process improvement and standardization for logistics processes.
  • Perform other tasks and assignments as needed and specified by management
  • Lead and manage team

GMP Logistics

  • Responsible for transfer of raw materials, vector, and plasmid from manufacturing site to storage facility or other locations as identified
  • Comply with import / export regulations, customs clearance, and associated documentation. Partner with legal, finance, and tax as necessary
  • Determine and manage logistics KPIs

Requirements

Required Knowledge

  • 12+ years of Supply Chain Distribution and Customer Operations experience gained through broad and deep experience in pharmaceutical/biotech industry
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including facilitation and presentation skills
  • Skilled in writing and reviewing SOPs and work instructions
  • Well-organized and detail oriented with good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary industrial environment
  • Strong commitment to accuracy and attention to detail, ability to work independently
  • Must be able to: multi-task, be flexible, work in a close-knit team-oriented atmosphere


Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent pharmaceutical experience
