Position Summary

GreenLight Biosciences is seeking an exceptional and highly motivated scientist to be the laboratory head of the Immunology team to help advance the company’s vaccine cutting-edge mRNA platform technology. A deep background in Immunology and Vaccinology is required. Strong organizational, problem-solving and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work in a fast-paced R&D environment.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of four to six immunologists dedicated to developing the company’s mRNA vaccines and therapeutics.
  • Help to build the brand-new research site by setting up lab spaces and research capabilities for implementing system serology and cellular immunology assays.
  • Accountable to integrate immunological analysis of GLB vaccines and therapeutic candidates by focusing on humoral and cell-mediated immunity.
  • Be the scientific point of reference for the DOEs (design of experiment), data interpretation and communication of results. 
  • Be the CRO scientific point of contact to review protocols and track records of documents according to data quality guidelines.   
  • Support CRO logistics and deliverables working close to project managers.
  • Accountable for the Immunology team data quality compliance i.e., animal study reports, eLNB, SOPs and study reports.
  • Contribute to writing documents for scientific communications, i.e., scientific publications, patents, and IND filing. 
  • Support vaccine early discovery programs, managing timeline and communicating plans and progress to cross-functional scientific teams.

Note: This is not a remote position. Flexible working hours and teleconferences are considered. Candidates should be willing to be present at the Woburn GLB site daily.

 

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Vaccinology, Immunology, or relevant field 
  • At least five years of relevant academic or industrial experience.
  • Demonstrated experience establishing in vivo models for vaccine evaluation is required.
  • Strong expertise in developing immunological assays to evaluate antigen responses (B and T cell responses) is required.

  • Strong understanding of infectious disease immunology. 

  • Relevant record of scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals or patents.
  • Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills are required, with the ability to work both independently and in a collaborative work environment.
