POSITION SUMMARY

GreenLight Biosciences is seeking an exceptional, highly motivated, and collaborative Scientist to join the Product Delivery team - Delivery Technology function. The candidate will be focused on the development of novel delivery technology approaches to bring a higher concentration of dsRNA to the target site of action.  The successful candidate will provide well-characterized solutions to enable the application of dsRNA to new targets.   The tools developed will be designed to improve the uptake and mode-of-action of RNAi.   Experience with macromolecule delivery in biologic systems is required.  Experience with nanoparticle formation and characterization techniques is required.   Familiarity with a variety of analytical techniques including DLS, electrophoresis (gel and capillary), HPLC, SEC, Spectroscopy (FTIR, Raman, Fluorescence), applied to oligonucleotide characterization is required.  Strong technical, organizational, and communication skills, along with a commitment to excellence and high-quality work are required. The individual will contribute within an innovative and fast-paced R&D environment and help to build the future of the RNA revolution. Come and join us.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and prepare delivery technologies that increase the concentration of dsRNA at the target site of action.
  • Characterize novel formulations of dsRNA and formulation components in complex matrix systems.
  • Analyze, summarize, and clearly present technical data to the rest of the R&D organization and in external venues
  • Work collaboratively with other R&D team members to accomplish project goals and milestones

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS, MS and/or Ph.D. in chemistry, pharmacology, biochemistry, chemical engineering, or related field.
  • 5-10+ years’ experience, preferably in drug delivery, pharmacology, or biochemistry of macromolecules in an industry-applied laboratory setting.
  • Experience with the design of macromolecule delivery systems into cell-based and biological-systems-based assays;  specifically experience with polymer encapsulation, lipid nanoparticle, and inorganic particle delivery methods are needed.
  • Experience successfully managing complex experimental design across cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with biological or chemical plant health products and bioassays.
  • Experience with oligonucleotide delivery is preferred.
  • Experience with the microscopic characterization of different colloidal systems through different analytical techniques, including DLS, Zeta Potential, etc. as well as the definition of their macroscopic physical attributes such as viscosity and surface tension, is preferred.
  • Must be highly motivated with high-quality standards and an absolute commitment to team success.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced R&D environment with multiple tasks at hand.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with a proven ability to convey complex ideas in a clear, precise, and actionable manner.
