What you will do

Lets do this. Lets change the world! Commercial Data & Analytics is recruiting for a Senior Manager to support specialized secondary analytics projects across the entirety of Amgens business.

The individual in this role will be responsible for delivering analysis using a wide range of data sources (e.g. claims data, demand data, electronic medical records data, etc.) to provide internal partners with a holistic, objective, and detailed understanding of performance.

You will use a deep understanding of the techniques required to synthesize insights from multiple data sources and build an integrated picture of brand or portfolio performance. You are a hardworking champion of insights-driven strategy and objective evidence-based decision making and able to partner with commercial clients to deliver impactful recommendations.

You will work across the analytics functions (Data Science, V&A, Field Excellence, etc.) to look for new ways of working, alignments in efforts and ensure communication across the various functions. Depending on the project, the individual in this role may be asked to participate across a range of CD&A functions, including Insights, Forecasting, and Analytics. As such the individual in this role should be experienced across all these disciplines, at both a national/subnational level.

This position reports to the Director of Portfolio Insights and Enablement within Commercial Data and Analytics (CD&A) group.

Key job responsibilities:
  • Lead data analyses and assessments to better understand business performance and identify growth opportunities

  • Synthesize and integrate various data, research and analyses into impactful insights while ensuring that analyses and summaries of results are shared in the form of compelling stories that deepen customer understanding

  • Turn unstructured business issues/requests into appropriate action plans and projects that result in high quality, meaningful and impactful deliverables

  • Collaborate with marketing/brand and finance partners to define key business metrics, leading performance indicators and tracking plan

  • Work with commercial insights leads to develop and deliver analysis using complex data sources including account-level demand data, claims data, electronic medical records data, etc. to generate a holistic, objective, and detailed understanding of brand business and to drive investment decisions and define commercial strategies and tactics

  • Work with forecasting team to pressure test assumptions and methodology used to generate short range and long-range forecast plan

  • Help forecasting team to perform analyses and assessments in the area of product preference, estimating revenue potential, market size, penetration, and prepare forecasts and recommendation.

  • Identify and evaluate various solutions available either in-house or with external vendors

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 2 years of analytics experience

Or

Masters degree and 4 years of analytics experience

Or

Bachelors degree and 6 years of analytics experience

Preferred qualifications:
  • Expert level proficiency in Analytics & Forecasting

  • Broad, solid understanding of commonly used biopharmaceutical industry databases such as IQVIA, Symphony Health, Flatiron, EMR, Optum, Truven, McKesson, DRG and other large datasets that require custom analysis and evaluation.

  • Strong oral, written and presentation skills; able to explain complex concepts clearly to a variety of audiences

  • Strong project management skillsable to organize and complete multiple projects efficiently and on time

  • Demonstrated analytical skills combined with a client service orientation

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically to support key business decisions
