Our small-size proteins, such as Cas14 and CasPhi, are poised to transform disease treatment enabling novel editing approaches and delivery options that are difficult to achieve or not even possible with previously described CRISPR-Cas systems. Our teams are responsible for discovering and engineering novel CRISPR systems, establishing CRISPR-based diagnostics, and translating our unique CRISPR technology into therapeutic treatments with the ultimate goal of cures for indications with high medical need.


Mammoth is seeking a Research Associate with molecular biology and biochemistry expertise to join its growing Discovery team. The Discovery team is responsible for identifying and developing novel CRISPR-associated (Cas) nucleases for genome editing and diagnostic applications.

The successful candidate will be responsible for executing laboratory workflows to develop Cas nucleases. They will have the opportunity to contribute broadly across multiple technical areas, including plasmid construction, NGS assays, protein purification, high-throughput screening, and laboratory automation.     • Work directly with Scientists and Research Associates to generate proteins in a high throughput manner
    • Execution of established molecular biology and biochemistry workflows (functional assays and reagent preparation)
    • Design and assess new protein purification processes
    • Assist with cloning, NGS library prep, and other molecular biology related tasks
    • Document and regularly present data at internal meetings

    • BS in molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related field
    • 1 year of academic or industry laboratory research experience

    • Hands-on experience in protein purification (E. coli-based expression/mammalian cell-based expression, FPLC & SDS PAGE)
    • Knowledge of enzyme kinetics
    • Experience with Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) assays
    • Experience with automated liquid handlers and/or colony pickers
    • Experience with software tools including Benchling, Geneious, JMP, SQL, R, or python
    • Ability to work efficiently and productively in a fast-paced, highly collaborative team environment
