ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, IT INFRASTRUCTURE & SECURITY 

Position Summary:

The Associate Director, IT Infrastructure and Security, reporting to the CIO, is accountable for a service strategy that is aligned with GBT strategic objectives. This leader will develop and maintain a high performing team to deliver a resilient technology infrastructure, cybersecurity and capabilities which improve productivity and collaboration in supporting a global distributed workforce.  This position will be an advocate for GBT's total information security needs and responsible for the development and delivery of a comprehensive risk-based information security strategy to optimize the security posture of the company. They will be a member of the Information Technology Leadership Team and will use their proven leadership, knowledge, and experience to deliver high-quality execution and operational excellence necessary to support a dynamic global biopharmaceutical business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Partners, collaborates, and develops strong relationships within Information Technology functional leaders to understand technology infrastructure and security needs in support of corporate strategy, corporate objectives, and major functional objectives
  • Ensures the strategy, infrastructure and security operating models (organization, talent, employees, vendors, processes, technologies) addresses GBT's immediate and long-term business needs and is synergistic with the overall IT strategy
  • Proactively manages capacity, technology life cycle, effectiveness, and delivery of key services
  • Directs and oversee all IT Infrastructure and Security operations. Ensures proper staffing leveraging Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and employees. Manage demand and delivery through internal teams, suppliers, and partners through a portfolio of services, projects, operational processes, and metrics
  • Develops and maintains 2 year rolling roadmaps that optimally reflect business strategic objectives, efficient sequencing, resources, and funding
  • Partners with IT leaders to develop and maintain an enterprise technical architecture that is based upon cloud and external services
  • Utilizes best practices, structured approaches, and architecture standards for evaluating, designing, and implementing services/solutions to meet requirements for functionality, performance, availability, scalability, security, and disaster recovery; proactively manage performance of key vendors and third parties
  • Implements policies, procedures, automation, and controls for consistent delivery of high availability services in a cost-effective manner
  • Partners with counterparts in other functional areas to implement and operationalize controls necessary for cyber security, GxP, SOX, GDPR, and other relevant compliance standards
  • Develops and continuously maintains budgets that align with plans and service levels; proactively improve value over cost ratio
  • Recruits, develops, and leads the IT security and infrastructure teams
  • Develop, maintain, and oversee a company wide information security program and ensure understanding of and commitment to the program within GBT
  • Develop, maintain and oversee information security policies, procedures and control techniques to address all applicable requirements
  • Ensures that compliance and security considerations are embedded in the culture and service delivery
  • Oversee the establishment and maintenance of a security operation that strives for automated and continuous monitoring in the detection; containment and mitigation of incidents
  • Define, identify and classify critical information assets, assess threats and vulnerabilities regarding those assets and implement safeguard recommendations

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in computer science, management information systems, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates analytical skills, problem solving, initiative, judgment, decision making and writing ability
  • 8+ years of progressively increasing responsibility and achievement in Information Technology.
  • Experience managing and supporting systems on a wide variety of platforms
  • Extensive IT infrastructure and day to day IT operations experience
  • Proven people skills in managing IT staff and multiple IT teams
  • Articulate and communicate thoughts, ideas, proposals up and down the organization
  • Strong time management skills. Ability to adapt and efficiently work with shifting priorities
  • Experience managing large-scale portfolio and projects in a team-oriented matrixed organizational environment
  • Experience with federal and global regulations, guidance, and compliance requirements related to computerized systems
  • Biopharma industry experience is a plus
