CONTRACT - ACCOUNTING MANAGER

Position Summary:

The Accounting Manager is an integral part of a growing accounting team and needs to have strong operational experience with full-cycle Accounts Payable, General Ledger and month-end close process. The position requires the individual to have the ability to effectively multi-task, prioritize work, demonstrate accountability, and meet established deadlines. The ideal candidate will have strong operational experience who enjoys a fast-paced commercial environment. The successful candidate is articulate, professional, and understands the ins and outs of wearing multiple hats in a growing organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and/or review journal entries for key areas of responsibility including accruals, and ensuring month-end close metrics are delivered with excellence
  • Analyze and review general ledger accounts in preparation for month-end close
  • Review and prepare bank reconciliation entries
  • Prepare and maintain the monthly fixed asset sub ledgers
  • General ledger account reconciliation preparation, review and follow-up on open items
  • Liaise between accounting team members and FP&A regarding the periodic activity under review and provide guidance on proper determination of U.S. GAAP expense recognition, accrual accuracy and disclosures
  • Support FP&A team for G&A accrual booking
  • Maintain system integrations: NetSuite, Zycus, and Concur
  • Manage the Flo Qast reconciliation tool
  • Assist with financial statement audit - prepare schedules, compile support for audit selections and other audit related activities
  • Identify and implement process improvements through standardization and automation of processes and control
  • Prepare and/or update standard operating procedures for assigned areas
  • Ad hoc finance support projects as needed


Qualifications:

  • BA/BS Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years general ledger accounting experience desired
  • Experience with NetSuite, Concur, and procurement systems
  • An aptitude for learning and managing ERP data structures and reporting capabilities
  • Superior analytical and modeling skills including advanced proficiency in Excel and the ability to quickly manipulate and analyze large data sets and build reports
  • Strong work ethic including sound judgment, outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to work independently
  • Able to work with high volume of transactions in a fast-paced environment
  • Results and goal-oriented mindset with an opportunistic eye towards process improvements
  • Strong ability to prioritize and organize work effectively
  • Must be able to collaborate and communicate effectively
