The Regional Account Executive (RAE) is a field-based account management position on the IMBRUVICA Market Access Team reporting to a field Director of Market Access. This individual will manage several key oncology accounts in the Northeast US: National Cancer Institutions (NCI), large Medically Integrated Dispensing (MID)/In-Office Dispensing (IOD) practices, large health systems, integrated delivery networks (IDNs), Regional Payers, and State Medicaid programs.  Additional responsibilities include managing activities with the regional oncology state societies.

The RAE will establish and develop business relationships with executive management and key decision makers at these accounts.  In addition, they will partner with the sales teams and other teams within market access to support field commercial initiatives.  The RAE should possess an overall knowledge of managed markets, reimbursement, distribution, contracting, pathways, and ideally will have first-hand large oncology account management experience.  This individual should possess an overall understanding of oral and injectable oncology therapies, insurance types, and state societies.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Target account activity:
    • Leverage IMBRUVICA’s clinical and economic value propositions to build strategic relationships with executives and key decision makers at key oncology accounts to support access to IMBRUVICA
    • Work with key decision makers at IDNs, Regional Payers, and State Medicaid programs to ensure appropriate coverage and access for approved product indications
    • Share clinical and economic value propositions, HEOR data with key stakeholders
    • Explore clinical pathway opportunities
    • Manage development and awareness of contracting initiatives
    • Analyze market trends, payer policies, and sales data to create strategic plans to support access and explore new business opportunities
    • Manage regional oncology state societies
    • Educate and provide updates to state societies regarding label updates and program changes

 

  • Cross-functional partnering and communication:
    • Coordinate with Sales and Medical Affairs teams to support appropriate Account Management activities
    • Develop regional analyses outlining payer trends, market trends, distribution model trends, and other ad-hoc analyses to support market access, sales, and commercial leadership
    • Educate and inform sales teams on Market Access initiatives and approved marketing messages
    • Present Market Access initiatives at regional/national sales meetings and on division calls
    • Work with Market Access Marketing to develop resources and materials
    • Work cross-functionally with other departments, such as Trade and Business Analytics

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university
  • 10 years of biotech/pharma experience
  • Previous oncology large account management, regional account management, payer management experience preferred
  • Possess knowledge within Market Access including but not limited to understanding of the pharmacy and medical benefits design, formulary coverage, recent legislative changes, Medicare, Medicaid (FFS and Managed), distribution models, contracting, clinical pathways
  • Proficiency at troubleshooting access and coverage related issues
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently
  • Superior communication skills
  • Exceptional presentation skills in both 1:1 and group settings
  • Advanced PowerPoint and Excel proficiency
  • Ability to travel up to 50% - 70%
