How you will Achieve More with Intellia:

In this newly created Senior Buyer role, you will be responsible for supporting R&D procurement activities across our growing organization. The position is highly collaborative and will require strong critical thinking, organizational skills, and the proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Some of the work you will be responsible for includes:
  • Supporting continuous improvement activities via the implementation of efficient purchasing processes and solutions that are in line with changing organizational needs
  • Evaluating supplier contracts to ensure compliance with legal requirements while internally promoting the established organizational policies and procedures for vendor engagement
  • Leveraging sourcing opportunities across multiple business units within Intellia to develop a category strategy and lead cross-functional sourcing efforts with a proven track record for laboratory consumables and general and administrative spend
  • Reviewing and processing purchase requisitions to ensure that they meet the organization's compliance requirements which include proper documentation, currency, and payment terms
  • Supporting all efforts to maintain an approved supplier database focused on price, quality, and assurance of supply while avoiding disruptions in the vendor supply chain
  • Promoting awareness and facilitating support, training, and implementation for the use of existing and the development of procurement tools with internal stakeholders and vendors

About You:

You have proven experience in the facilitation of lab consumables category strategies to deliver cost savings initiatives, explore best-in-class products and services as one with our stakeholders which may disrupt the typical status quo via existing procurement channels. Here are some of the other desired skills we will be looking for you to have!
  • Experience in procurement/sourcing with a proven track record for managing laboratory consumables spend
  • Exceptional customer service, communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
  • Proven track record of managing supplier relationships, providing a superior level of service, and the ability to resolve customer issues expeditiously, while managing multiple projects
  • eProcurement experience with vendor punchout sites
  • Knowledge of supply chain operations, vendor development, and contract negotiations
  • You have worked with a procurement platform in the past. We use Oracle Fusion, but any comparable systems experience will be sufficient

Meet your future team:

This role will report directly to the Associate Director, Procurement. The Procurement team is made up of three other individuals, who bring a range of experience and knowledge. While a small team, you will join a group of passionate individuals who enjoy working with one another. In addition to the procurement team, you will have the opportunity to be a part of the larger group of people under the CFO, which is comprised of FP&A, Accounting, Payroll/Equity, IT, Investor Relations, Corporate Communications, and Operations.

The team is currently working virtually. While the team does plan to return to the Cambridge MA office, current plans slate a return to the office for September (tentatively). Although in a virtual environment, the group has made it a priority to continue to foster a sense of community among the team; this includes virtual happy hours, team all-hands, game nights, and more! You can expect to join a hardworking and collaborative environment.
