Why Join Intellia?

Our mission is to develop curative genome editing treatments that can positively transform the lives of people living with severe and life-threatening diseases.

Beyond our science, we live our four core values: One, Explore, Disrupt, Deliver and feel strongly that you can achieve more at Intellia. We have a single-minded determination to excel and succeed together. We believe in the power of curiosity and pushing boundaries. We welcome challenging thoughts and imagination to develop innovative solutions. And we know that patients are counting on us to make the promise a reality, so we must maintain high standards and get it done.

We want all of our people to go beyond what is possible. We aren't constrained by typical end rails, and we aren't out to just treat people. We're all in this for something more. We're driven to cure and motivated for change. Just imagine the possibilities of what we can do together.

How you will Achieve More with Intellia

We are looking to hire a Senior Research Associate, Immunologist to the ex-vivo group. At Intellia, we leverage CRISPR technology to fully unleash the power of cell-based therapy for autoimmune and malignant diseases. In your new role, you will be in charge of generating CAR-engineered human T cells, including regulatory T cells (Tregs) to further characterize these cells in various in vitro assays. These assays include activation and cytotoxicity assays, fluorescence-based proliferation assays, and mixed lymphocyte reaction (MLR) suppression assays. Additional role responsibilities include:
  • Performing multicolor flow cytometry analysis
  • Assess T cell cytokine profiles by ELISA or MSD
  • Coordinate and collaborate with colleagues to assess CAR-T cell functionality and safety in vivo
  • Help with conducting animal studies (mouse handling, endpoint analysis)

About You

Our ideal candidate will have a solid background in immunology, especially T cell and CAR-T cell biology, and seeks to lead innovative, cutting-edge studies in an enthusiastic and collaborative environment. If you describe yourself as a great team player who wants to have fun, grow with us, and look for opportunities to break new ground, we encourage you to apply!

Additional role requirements include:
  • M.S. in immunology, cell biology, or related field with experience in industry or academic lab.
  • Strong organizational and data documentation skills.
  • Ability to implement, optimize and/or troubleshoot protocols and operating procedures.
  • Comfortable working in a team setting and collaborating within a group.

Meet your future team

The T-reg Cell Therapy team at Intellia is an energetic, highly motivated, and fun group of scientists. Teamwork makes the dreamwork is our mantra and we strongly support each other with all individual projects. We are dedicated to making a difference for autoimmune patients by developing an unprecedented, CRISPR-based approach to generate highly potent synthetic Tregs. Your future hiring manager is the Senior Scientist of the group that co-leads CAR-engineering efforts for T cell retargeting.

All team members are currently working mostly onsite in a wet-lab environment. Therefore, we hope you are local to Cambridge MA, or open to relocating. While much of the day-to-day tasks require wet-lab work, our team aims to build not just technical expertise but to promote an environment for personal development and career growth in biotech. If you decide to join us, you can expect to become a highly valued member of a hardworking and collaborative team. We look forward to fostering your skills, learning from your experiences, and building a larger team together to impact patients' lives.
