OPPORTUNITY

The Field Application Scientist, High-Throughput COVID Diagnostics is responsible for supporting the technical customer success in running Mammoth's CLIA lab-based high throughput molecular diagnostic assay products. Key activities for the position include providing technical expertise to customers in setting up their assay and troubleshooting, being the first point of contact for customers when technical challenges arise, and obtaining feedback for product improvement. This role can be located anywhere in the United States.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Qualifying and engaging potential molecular testing lab customers to ensure successful outcomes using our COVID assay on an automated high-throughput liquid handling platform
    • Develop strong relationships with all key lab personnel and be the main point of contact for Mammoth
    • Ensure customer success by providing an onsite demonstration of the COVID assay on a partner's automation platform
    • Ensure the customer understands the CRISPR-based assay and workflow
    • Be the lead interface between the internal technical, quality, and operation teams and the customer to address customer issues
    • Partner with our automation vendors, when needed to ensure the appropriate technical response is deployed, to ensure customer satisfaction
    • Assist the marketing team in formulating sales strategies and adapt accordingly to fit the current COVID testing environment
    • Collaborate with the internal technical and product teams by frequently providing field-based observations and feedback from customers
    • Train the sales team on new technology and product offerings


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
    • Master's degree in biochemistry, molecular biology or related field
    • 3+ years of diagnostic commercial experience
    • Experience supporting novel products including NGS, PCR, ddPCR, ect within the molecular in vitro diagnostics (IVD) market with strong knowledge of current marketed products and competition
    • Willingness to travel (within territory) 50% of the time
    • Experience supporting customers in a fast-paced startup environment


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
    • Ph.D.
    • Experience in supporting molecular diagnostics scientist technical challenges in testing laboratories
    • Demonstrated track record of exceeding plan in a challenging environment
    • Highly organized, good oral skills, good interpersonal skills, data-driven, and knowledge of the latest scientific and market developments in the COVID testing space
