We are seeking a R&D Specialist within the Formulation Development Group of Regeneron Pharmaceutical Inc. at Tarrytown, NY. The R&D Specialist will be involved with clinical and commercial formulation and drug product development activities including protein stability and characterization. The Specialist will also support manufacturing process development, gene therapy modalities, and drug delivery technologies.

A Typical Day in the Role of Specialist Might Look Like:
• Designs and executes formulation and stability studies to support various phase-appropriate drug development of antibodies and other modalities (e.g. siRNA).
• Develops and performs characterization of candidate molecules using various biophysical and biochemical techniques to identify critical quality attributes.
• Characterizes the drug product (lyophilized or liquid) formulation to support manufacturing of clinical drug substances and drug products.
• Develops fit-for-purpose analytical methods to support biophysical characterization, formulation and process development and research stability testing.
• Collect, process and document data by following organizational policies.
• Utilizes statistical knowledge and software packages (e.g. JMP) for study design and data analysis.
• Participates in meetings and communicates results in team meetings or department meetings.
• Authors technical documents for internal use and supports regulatory filings.

B.S. with 5+ years or M.S. with 2+ years experience in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Relevant proven experience preferred. Strong technical knowledge base and meaningful experience with protein/peptide chemistry, biophysical/biochemical characterization of proteins, bioanalytical method development and biomolecule product development is desirable. Experience with chromatography methods (HPLC, UPLC, column chromatography,CEX, AEX, SEC, IPRP, RP), visible and subvisible particle analysis (MFI, HIAC), capillary electrophoresis (MCE, iCIEF) and/or biophysical techniques (UV-vis, DLS, FTIR, DSC, AUC, Fluorescence, Raman spectroscopy) for characterization is desirable. Knowledge of gene therapy modalities (siRNA, LNP, AAV, etc.) is a plus.
