Senior University Relations Recruiter

Role can be based in either Lake County, IL, Worcester, MA or Cambridge, MA, with the opportunity for a hybrid of remote and in-person work."


The University Relations Recruiter will be responsible for full lifecycle recruitment of intern and early career hires. Responsibilities may include:

  • Managing candidates through full lifecycle recruitment of key internship and full-time roles, including participating in campus recruitment events, conducting interviews, managing candidate communications, documenting candidate progress in appropriate systems, extending offers and other recruitment-related processes.
  • Partnering closely with business and HR partners to understand intern and early career talent forecasts and deliver to plan.
  • Being a strategic advisor to our business partners by leveraging data and market intelligence to develop innovative university recruitment attraction and sourcing strategies aligned to business priorities.
  • Cultivating deep relationships with university staff and student organizations, enhancing AbbVie’s employment brand with targeted universities and organizations.
  • Developing and optimizing peer relationships within the university recruitment space; compile and communicate university recruiting knowledge, best practices and market trends to team members and key stakeholders.
  • Annual project work and support of strategic initiatives.
  • Supporting intern programming and event logistics.

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of four years of HR experience, at least two years within University Relations recruitment
  • Proficiency in recruiting systems (such as Taleo, Avature, Yello, Handshake, and Brazen) is preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Office is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively influence at all levels of an organization
  • Ability to travel up to 20% (primarily during campus recruitment seasons)
