Who You Are:

We seek a passionate and energetic scientist interested in applying their technical understanding to build bridges with leading academic investigators and evaluate new therapeutic ideas from academia. The Associate of Academic Program Sourcing will be a critical, external-facing member of the BridgeBio business development team, with responsibilities focused on managing our current academic alliances and outreach to new universities. The applicant would grow into an expert on the therapeutic and research landscape in genetic disease and precision oncology, building critical business development, entrepreneurial and analytical skills along the way.

Responsibilities:
  • Work as a point of contact for our university partners to ensure we are working harmoniously with them and their investigators
  • Lead the logistical planning of alliances with leading universities and research institutions
  • Implement “Focus Days” with investigators at universities, where we engage in deep scientific conversations around translational research proposals
  • Support our search and evaluation of new therapeutic assets from academia by speaking with investigators and codifying the basic and translational aspects of their research
  • Work with our business development team to generate new therapeutic ideas inspired by academia from our university partners or the scientific literature
  • Eventually, represent BridgeBio on steering committees, advisory committees, or as a judge for our university partners seeking industry guidance


Education, Experience & Skills Requirements:
  • Ph.D. preferred, will consider Masters/Bachelors degree with enough relevant work experience
  • High comfort level reading and discussing scientific literature
  • Previous experience working with technology transfer offices or closely with academic investigators in some capacity
  • Familiarity and confidence working across a wide breadth of life science concepts (molecular biology, genetics, etc.)
  • A strong aptitude for and interest in finding and translating academic innovation into real therapies for patients
  • A self-starter who loves to learn and will bring great energy to work every day
