Responsibilities
 
Responsible for developing and deploying Environmental Health & Safety programs & policies to mitigate risk, drive regulatory compliance and promote a positive EHS culture.
 
Develop and implement EHS programs and systems across 2 sites (80 employees) to ensure adherence with applicable laws, regulations, etc.
 
Compliance with GMP/FDA EHS requirements and regulations.
Ownership of EHS component for construction of a new facility.
Participation in project meetings, anticipate outcome of decisions. Monitor site construction activities.
Identify, monitor and own key EHS performance indicators. Use data to develop strategy to improve site safety and reduce environmental impact.
Serve in incident command structure during site emergencies.
Utilize lean principles and tools to refine EHS and sustainability programs.
Engage site operations teams to ensure alignment on priorities to maximize effectiveness.
Reinforce and sustain safety-first culture.
Refine EHS programs and processes to meet the changing needs of the business.
Provide technical expertise and guidance to solve site hazards (chemical, biological, physical, electrical, slip/trip/fall, confined space, ergonomic, etc.).
Ensure timely execution of EHS objectives and performance metrics. Lead programs to improve EHS performance in the Sarasota and Boca site.
 
Evaluate facility EHS conditions, assess risks and develop appropriate corrective-action plans and budgets to address deficiencies in comparison to regulations and internal policy/protocol.
 
Provide EHS guidance and compliance support to site managers in addressing government inquiries, violations and to ensure compliance with regulatory and program requirements.
 
Lead EHS compliance and program audits of manufacturing sites and service operations. Provide follow-up and support post governance/business audit to ensure execution to action plan, risk mitigation & program improvements.
 
 
 
 
Requirements
3-5 years leading environmental and safety compliance programs in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology manufacturing environment
MUST HAVE medical, biotech, and/or pharmaceutical, or healthcare experience.
BS or BA in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Management, or related field as well as current certifications in EHS or Safety.
Ability to organize, motivate and lead teams, inspire change and interact cross functionally.
Ability to handle multiple diverse priorities effectively.
Extensive experience with health and safety regulations and program management
Knowledge of US Federal and State EHS regulations and programs.
EHS Compliance experience with demonstrated capability of learning requirements and applying this experience internationally.
Ability to make decisions, even when under pressure & take ownership for assigned projects and programs
