Job Description

Job Purpose:

Purpose: To lead the development of Seqirus’s Global Brand strategies and Commercial Development activities

  • Lead the Global Brand Strategy Teams that drive matrix / cross-functional teams across the organization to develop Product and Technology strategies and roadmaps
  • Lead development of Global Strategic Brand/Innovation plans including the annual 5-year Strat Plan and 10-year Long-Range Forecasts to drive the growth of Seqirus differentiated portfolio of products
  • Lead development of launch plans and life-cycle management for our product pipeline
  • Work cross-functionally: across Regions/Countries to develop and execute Marketing strategies that support achievement of business goals; across Operations and Supply Chain teams on product forecasts to ensure medium-long term operational capacity planning meets revenue forecasts
  • Provide leadership within the organization around building a culture of innovation that is focused on finding new ways to support growth of our brands
  • Develop vision and mission for the Global Strategic Marketing team and develop culture and values that adhere to CSL and Seqirus Core Values
  • Ensure Global Brand Plans reflect Seqirus Corporate Brand values to external stakeholders
  • Support the expansion of the Seqirus global business to help deliver ~$2B in revenues today, with forecast double-digit growth thereafter

Major Responsibilities:

Lead the Seqirus Strat Planning Process

  • Develop strategies that drive long term commercial success for Seqirus, through ongoing innovation and product differentiation
  • Lead the annual Strat Plan and Long-Range Forecast cycle
  • Provide strategic thought leadership, internal consulting, and project execution for the Regions throughout the Strat Plan cycle
  • Engage cross-functionally with Operations, R&D on Product/Franchise priorities and timelines for an aligned Strat Plan and roadmap
  • Partner with Finance to integrate Strat Planning and financial planning/budgeting into a seamless planning process by establishing linkages between the portfolio management, budgeting and planning processes
  • Assess the impact of Global Brand marketing strategies and tactics on the P&L

Develop Commercial Global Brand Strategies

  • Lead the Global Brand Strategy Teams and ensure Brand strategies support the 10-year financial goals of the business
  • Provide Brand roadmaps for launch team members (Region Heads, Region/country Marketing Directors, Sales Teams, Med Affairs) to execute new product launches and lifecycle management
  • Be subject matter experts in competitor activities, market dynamics, evolving health care trends, and communicate insights within the organization
  • Collaborate with Regions and R&D to help drive decision-making on go/no-go Brand launch decisions, Brand target product profiles
  • Manage and prioritize Brand/Product development requests from diverse internal client base (R&D and Regions)
  • Ensure consistent, high-quality & timely delivery of actionable insights / detailed execution roadmaps across stakeholders
  • Interact with ES&OP as stewards of Brand strategies and volume forecasts

Develop Commercial Innovation Strategies

  • Identify Global Innovation Target areas – product, technology, or service - that advance existing, adjacent, and white space areas for the portfolio, including exploitation of Seqirus’s core technology capabilities in cell-culture, adjuvants and mRNA
  • Assess cross-industry best practices, competitive intelligence, new business models and technologies to enhance current global and regional planning practices. Integrate creativity into strategy formulation and execution.
  • Conduct market assessments that help determine buy/build/partner market-entry decisions that support market expansion or investments into adjacencies
  • Select areas of priority through strong multi-functional and region/market collaboration in Strat Plan process
  • Develop comprehensive guidance and tools for Regional execution
  • Liaise with Business Development / Licensing to assess adjacencies or investments that align with Seqirus product portfolio

Manage Key Stakeholders

  • Ensure development of consistent Brand and Corporate messages in Global Brand Plans to be delivered to external stakeholders (e.g., Policymakers, Reg Agencies, Public Health Partners)
  • Cultivate close relationships with cross-functional team colleagues in Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Operations, Finance, and Policy to align on and advance strategic goals
  • Help Region Commercial leaders define and articulate Brand initiatives in service of their vision, both for purposes of communication but also to enable rapid execution
  • Lead/accelerate major initiatives/projects by exerting constructive influence (directly and indirectly) and leading cross-functional planning/execution teams

Lead Teams and People

  • Model Seqirus culture, values and behaviours that engender Innovation, Collaboration, Performance, Patient Focus
  • Manage the professional development of high-performers throughout the team, not just direct reports
  • Global Brand Strategy Teams will lead matrix teams of different functions Regulatory, Supply Chain, Regions, Medical Affairs

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) or Masters in Public Health (MPH)
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in pharmaceutical/biotech or health care consulting
  • Proven track record in strategy, marketing, or new product development role
  • Marketing, sales and Strategic planning experience
  • Prior experience working with Regulatory, Med Affairs, Legal teams is required
  • Prior experience operating in role supporting a Global or regional market landscape
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to lead large teams
  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional and senior management to impact decision-making
  • Previous line management experience with coaching and mentoring skills to develop marketers
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and strategic thinking skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal skills
