Job Description:

The Senior Counsel will provide primary legal support for certain Ipsen products in the Oncology, Neuroscience, and Rare Disease business units by working closely with the leadership teams and other employees on all aspects of the commercial business. The Senior Counsel will serve on a number of Ipsen's committees, including the promotional review committee, grant review committee and medical review committee. The Senior Counsel will provide timely and actionable counsel to the franchises on strategic and tactical initiatives with respect to relevant legal and regulatory requirements, including, for example, issues involving competitors, appropriate product differentiation, and commercial and medical affairs activities. The Senior Counsel will identify issues and collaborate with colleagues at all levels to find solutions to important challenges early in the strategic development process. The Senior Counsel will work closely with other Ipsen attorneys to align, where appropriate, on cross-brand legal guidance. The Senior Counsel will dedicate a portion of his/her time to providing support to Ipsen's Value & Access team, under the supervision of Ipsen's Associate General Counsel. As part of a growing business, the Senior Counsel will have the opportunity for a diverse workload with support of other business units in North America

The Senior Counsel will work with all levels of employees, including senior management. This role requires experience, good judgment, and flexibility in a highly-regulated and compliant business. This role provides the opportunity for visibility as a leader in the organization, as well as the aforementioned engagement with Ipsen's Corporate Legal Department in Paris, France on a wide range of issues.

Qualifications & Skills
  • 6+ years practicing law
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant pharmaceutical company experience supporting in-market branded pharmaceutical products, including regulatory and commercial support, advertising/promotion review, and business counseling
  • Experience or a desire and willingness to gain experience in providing support to the Value & Access Department under the supervision of Associate General Counsel
  • Strong communications skills, verbal and written
  • Solutions-oriented mindset; cross-functional team player
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Solid track record of building strong, collaborative working relationships and working with different personality types
  • Strong work ethic; positive outlook; commitment to legal and business teams
